Baldy View Rop LVN program- any recent graduates/students?
So I passed my tabe test and I got my congratulations letter. Now they're asking me to go to Orientation this Tuesday and to bring my hs diploma, etc. The application asks if you have any cert's i.e. CNA, MA, etc. My initial thought was that after passing the tabe test- it was a sure shot into the program so long as I had my G.E.'s, my immunizations, a clean background and the tuition money. Now I'm wondering if there is some sort of selection process- do they favor CNA's/MA's over B.A. degree's? Cause that's all I have and I'll be damned if I don't get selected for not having any experience!!! Someone let me know about this "selection" process!!!

Accelerated BSN program vs. Tech schools (SoCal)
Thank you H0pefulstdnt. I really appreciate you sharing your similar experiences with me. What are the chances that a UCSB alum replies to my post? Hehe. I never thought that anyone could have or would be currently experiencing the same situation that I am/was! I literally, just as you said, felt like this was the end of my world. I'm glad to know that you've made it through and I congratulate you for your efforts in pursuing your BSN. Seriously though, you have restored all my motivation to keep trying to crash courses and get into the program. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply to my post. I was hitting rock bottom depressed not thinking anything would let up. Thank you again! Btw, which BSN program did you eventually get into?

Accelerated BSN program vs. Tech schools (SoCal)
I have a dilemma. Recent UC SANTA BARBARA graduate in Asian American studies (I know...I know) 100k Student loan. 2.85 GPA No Hospital Volunteer Experience. Need about 8 different pre-req's for the ACC BSN PROGRAMS. Registered at 10 different CITY COLLEGES in hopes to get into the 8 different pre-reqs courses I need before I can apply to the ACC BSN PROGRAMS and things are looking SLIM. West Coast BSN PROGRAM = 116k Tuition (I can't do that!) Everest ADN PROGRAM= looking into it, but how long is the program & how much is the overall tuition? MT. ST. Mary's= I need 9 pre-reqs for them and a mandatory entrance math test (I SUCK AT MATH) LOMA LINDA= HAH, with my GPA? CONCORDIA= Need 8 pre-reqs. If I can get these classes done by SPRING, I'll apply for the summer. CSUN= ermm...not in my area? I live in the I.E. Anyone have any suggestions? Whether it be a CC where there are open classes, or another University that offers an ACC BSN program in my area? Even if it's a tech school that offers an ADN program or a hospital that doesn't have a waitlist for their volunteers, please let me know. I'm not looking to spend more than 2 years tops on getting my RN, and I'm not looking to spend more than 50K to get it either. Sigh* any advice at all would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Depressed about student loans :(
Uhm, no offense. I started college in 07 and I just graduated with a B.A. in Asian American studies from UC Santa ******* Barbara and I don't even know WHERE I can use that at (I just wanted to graduate on TIME)! I've got a 100k student loan trailing behind me. Had I done my research in HS I would have chosen West Coast university, gotten outta there with the same loan amount, but at least I'd be an RN at 19 years old. >. So here I am, 22 with a 100k loan wishing I was already an RN. There you are, with 2 very LOGICAL degrees, and I'm guessing you're already an RN? WELL GET SOME MORE HOURS, work because you CAN, cut back on the spending and make that loan disappear. You're in a much better place than I am.
