UCLA MSN/FNP/APN 2012
I also applied to CSULA and have not heard from them yet. UCLA is my first choice and so I've already accepted the offer there. It's a matter of preference. Both schools are very expensive. I figure if I'm going to be taking out loans, I'm going to go to my school of choice and do it. Just my opinion. :)

UCLA MSN/FNP/APN 2012
I got my acceptance letter to UCLA FNP Fall 2012 program in the mail today. I am deliriously happy. There's hope for new nurses out there looking to go straight back to school-I am just shy of a year experience this month. Hope you all hear something soon!! Best of wishes to you and I'll keep following the feed to hear what happens with the rest of us!

UCLA MSN/FNP/APN 2012
Still have not heard anything via email or snail mail. My status online never changes from "no decision has been made on your application." I'd like to take the time to say that though UCLA is my ultimate educational dream-it's a little rude to make us wait this long. By reading the posts on grad cafe, a lot of the other department/majors are saying the same-that it took way long to hear back. I applied December 1st, and it's like they didn't even start looking at applications until March 20th or something. Still hoping and praying. Nothing back from CalStateLA yet either-but don't expect to hear from them until the beginning of May. Good luck everyone!! Thinking about you guys often!

UCLA MSN/FNP/APN 2012
I applied this year and have only worked for a year as an RN. I'm trying because for me, RN is a stepping stone, with my overall career goal being an FNP, and doing tons of research, and teaching, etc. It has a ton to do with your personal statement-they need to know you want this more than anything, and that overall you're capable, dedicated, and responsible. That you'll make UCLA look good in the long run. Financial ability is another one, because there is limited funding for graduate students. You need to be able to pay: whether that's through your own income, a scholarship, grant, or student loans...you have to be able to pay. Good luck and be prepared to wait a LONG time to hear ANYTHING. It's April 11th, and I only know of a few people that have gotten a definite answer at this time. AND OMG I just checked thegradcafe.com to see if there are any MSN replies up: no. However, like 20 rejections from the school of Engineering are posted from today/yesterday. AHHHHHHH!!! How AWFUL.

UCLA MSN/FNP/APN 2012
END of the month?! In our original "your application is complete" email I was told first week of April. I'm on pins and needles over here! I'm terrified I won't get in, when this is my absolute dream.

UCLA MSN/FNP/APN 2012
I agree; it would be pretty rude of him to tell us one thing when we call/email and keep our hopes up like this. From what he told me, I shouldn't be concerned at all because not all decisions have been made and we could be hearing back as late as mid-April. Which is totally not in line with the original 'your application is complete' letter I rec'd to begin with. I've got a lot else going on, thank goodness, so I'm not as focused on this right now. But I'm still waiting with sweaty palms when the mail comes every day. This is my dream, and I hope we hear something soon.

I still have heard nothing as well. Getting somewhat anxious. The original letter from them had said 'by the first week of April'....

Izzymo, No I haven't rec'd anything in the mail yet. However, I did email the Nursing Dept Recruiter Mark Covin and he said not to give up hope at all, because they haven't made all of the decisions yet, and that we could still be receiving letters into mid-April. So, that makes me feel a lot better about not having heard anything.

I am so sorry izzymo-that's very upsetting. Perhaps you are right, though-everything does happen for a reason. Best of luck to you and all that is to come. I still haven't received anything in the mail. Still have my fingers crossed. Getting more and more anxious by the moment.

Hey Izzymo; I have looked up this info. Here is the link to the information I have found about admissions stats. It's not discipline specific (doesn't break it down into fnp, admin, etc.)..but it's a start. Program Profile Report - Nursing

Most of the time at UCLA you get a letter via snail mail before anything in the email pops up; and the snail mail letter before your decision status login thing ever changes either. But I check both every day just in case. UCLA is my dream school-still hoping.

Still nothing in the mail for me today. Starting to lose hope. But, still holding out!

UCLA MSN/FNP/APN 2012
I haven't seen many posts on GradCafe about acceptances thus far. So I'm still very hopeful. Nothing in the mail today for me either. I work tomorrow, but I'm off Monday and Tuesday-so maybe something soon. Good luck everyone!

Panchinko, did you hear by email, snail mail, or did you just check your decision status online? I'm waiting still and live in Simi Valley. Thanks and congratulations! I can't imagine how elated you must be!!
