  1. i was just wondering about it.. Afterall its a clear liquid medication and can be mistaken as other IV medications which are clear too.. (if both of them are in a syringe..)
  2. IVV - intravenous through tube.. Its given intravenously..
  3. Hmmm..
  4. So here's an example.. What if a medication for nebulization Salbutamol(Ventolin) was given intravenously instead of nebulization. what happens to the patient?
  5. Ever been curious why gossip is rampant in the hospital? Its like everyone knows everything. Up to date gossips. As we all know, the hospital is one of the busiest places and one couldnt even take time to pee but we have all the time to gossip. Im guilty of this too.. Hmm. If you watch Greys Anatomy, I think this show portrays a typical hospital setting (including the gossip and love issues) Is it true in your hospital too?
  6. Thank you! It really helped. All the while I thought I was abnormal for almost fainting in the OR. Today I'll be scrubbing in on a neuro case. I guess I just have to remind myself to breathe all the time. thanks again! :)
  7. I use the blue tie-ons but I plan on buying the cloth masks. Are they advisable? I tend to have pimple when I use the disposable ones. Do you have the link to the thread that was similar to mine?
  8. What are your pre-scrubbing in rituals? How do you get yourself ready and prevent yourself from hypoglycemia when scubbing in? Ive had my fair share of hypoglycemia moments and that caused me to scrub out. tips? Have you ever felt dizzy while in surgery and almost fainted?
  9. Im currently an OR nurse and I've had my rotation in the ICU way back. In the OR, you need to be focused and observant. You have to be able to be attentive and keep your attention to the things the surgeon is doing in order to anticipate the next instrument to hand them. sometimes they dont say a thing a just reach their hand out to you and they expect you to know what they want. You also have to be thick-skinned. Surgeons tend to yell at you when you get it wrong -- its just their way of venting out. Dont and never hold grudges. There are days when you dont get to sit down your entire shift because of long surgeries but there are slow days too. Like no surgeries at all.
  10. thats exactly how I feel. :/ My bad. Thank you for all the replies guys, it really helped me! :)
  11. I think Im just anxious more than upset. What made me upset was looking at them so good at what their doing. I think I need to give this more time. Thank you!
  12. Thank you. Im anxious. i never had a bad experience. The people in the OR are friendly, nice and they take time to teach me. I dont know why I feel this way. Nerves perhaps? Or is it maybe I still havent adjusted to the environment?
  13. Its been only a week since Ive been assigned in the operating room and I already want to quit. Please help me. should I quit? I dont know why but a part of me wants to quit. Should I quit? what am I supposed to do to know if this job is really for me. please help. Im in a dilemma and its driving me crazy.
  14. I graduated 2 years ago and Ive been in and out of practice. I dont know if I really like what Im doing. Whe Im out of practice, I missed the job. Ive tried a lot of different jobs and always go back missing being a nurse. Right now, its my second month back at work in the hospital and I sooo want to quit. I dont understand myself anymore. I dont even know what I want. Do you think Im just convincing myself that I like this job? (
