  2. Any updates, ladies/gents? I'm at work and this anticipation is KILLING MEEEE! 😩
  3. OMG!! I'm SUPER anxious right now! Lol
  4. Idk.. But I'm hoping its sometime VERY soon b/c this wait is really getting the best of me. I come home everyday expecting something in the mail lol ughhhhh!
  5. Hey y'all! Just wanted to wish everyone the best with acceptance to the program. This is my 3rd attempt at this and hopefully the third times really a charm lol .. I've never applied to FSCJ's program but I have to UCF (where I received my bachelors) as well as UNF & UF.. I believe I have roughly 190 points. Didn't do as well as I thought I would with the HESI but I am hoping for the best anyway. Lord knows I'm tired of taking entrance exams. Anyway, best of luck to you all, and to those didn't quite score what they wanted/didnt have the best GPA, whatever the case may be, I just want to say DONT EVER give up! If this is what you truly want, stick with it and have faith. Best of luck to you all. Hope to see you in the spring! Naomi
  6. Today is the day. My God told me it was done... I'll send a prayer up for the rest of you guys! :-)Please post as soon as you recieve your letters! Talk to you guys soon! - Naomi
  7. Decisions will be mailed out this week guys!! Good luck to everyone !!
  8. Hey there jmnapoli! If you don't mind me asking, what is your GPA & do you have any medical experience ?
  9. Kaytea, Yea.. Its seems as if UCF is just known for giving people a hard time.. They are really particular.. you would think they were an ivy league school or something. lol Its great that you had someone to look over your essay.. I had my English professor look over mine as well. Maybe I should apply to USF too, even though they already told me that you have to have a pretty HIGH GPA to get into their program.. Its odd that their application isn't open yet.. July is kind of late to be hearing back when you start school in August. About the places near campus.. where would you recommend we look? I came down to take a look but I'm not really that familiar with the area so I only went to certain places.
  10. Hi Jennifer! Thanks for replying. I have already finished all of the pre reqs required by the majority of the nursing programs in Florida.. This is why I'm unsure of what to work on next. I did think of doing an ASN program at my current school (which is a state/community college) but I just always look at the fact that I could be graduating with a BSN in the same amount of time it would take me to graduate with the ASN. Geez! This is a bit frustrating.
  11. Oh yea, it should be a piece of cake to find a place to live alone.. I wanted at least one roommate.. you know, just to make a new friend or whatever. Shared apartments are DEFINITELY hard to come by.. Well, I didn't get accepted into UCF which is why I'm a bit worried about UF, but I am trying to stay optimistic. The wait and anticipation, as well as the struggle of trying to find a decent, safe, and affordable place is definitely stressful. When will you hear back from USF?
  12. Hi Kayteamarie! I also love UF and I am praying that I get in as well.. even though my stats aren't as good as yours.. thats an awesome GPA! The CNA experience and the volunteering should help you out quite a bit.. how was your essay? Have you applied to any other schools? Nice meeting you & good luck to you as well! -Naomi
  13. Hey Rachael! It will be worth it when we receive those acceptance letters! lol Hows your apartment search going? One thing I was also worried about was being able to get my money back should something (God forbid) go wrong and I'm not accepted.. I would get all but $565 back i believe from my place but the issue im having now is having to put down 1/2 the money up front because of credit issues. sucks but i really have no other choice. Have you applied to any other schools?
  14. Hi guys! Naomi here. I decided to start this thread to ask you guys for advice/suggestions on what to do if I don't get accepted into any nursing program. So far, I have applied to UCF, UF, and I will be applying for UNF today. I know I should have applied to more places but many of the Universities in FL either require a GPA I don't have, require a test or other courses that I didn't take, or their application deadline passed before I could get the minimum requirements completed. I have already received a denial letter from UCF, and I won't hear anything from UF until late June/early July. I will be graduating with my A.A degree in May; my current GPA is a 3.37 and I had a teas score of 74.7%. I know that's mediocre but I was pressed for time due to application deadlines, nonetheless, I tried my best. I know that my chances of getting into the universities mentioned previously is slim.. and I am also aware that with many universities I will have to wait an entire year before I could be considered for another shot at attending their program.. so my question is: Worse case scenario, if I don't get accepted into any school, what should I do in the meantime to help increase my chances of getting accepted next year? I would have to work towards a completely different degree in order to raise my GPA, but I'm not sure what that degree should be. I could also get my CNA license and work to gain experience, but that wont help my GPA. I am really at a crossroads with this guys.. I am continuing to pray and have faith but I know that sometimes God has other plans for you.. so if you guys could please give me some advice as to what you think I should do to better my chances of being accepted next time, please let me know. Thank you so much in advance. - Naomi
  15. Well I checked my email & I didn't get in but that's ok.. I guess God has other plans for me :) Congratulations to those who did get in.. I wish you all the best with the program and your careers. - Naomi
