Hi!! Sorry i didn't see this earlier! I hope this info isn't too late! During the third interview i was with 2 other people who were there for the same position. We got taken to a conference room where i met with the program coordinator and he told us about himself, and then asked us for our resume and asked when we graduated, what school we went to, and if we had taken our NCLEX. That was it!!! No other interview like questions or anything. Then he told us about the program, and what it would be like, and he asked if we had any questions. Then he took us on a tour of the simulation lab and by the end of the interview we were all talking about random things (which i took as a great sign!!...guess not? haha) anyway. After that he led us out and that was the end of that! I actually had another interview for a different position, where i was asked why i thought i didn't get the job, and i told the HR lady that i wasnt sure why (especially after i was in the 3rd interview!!), and she told me that maybe it was because i wasn't "outgoing enough" that i seemed "quiet" and that maybe the people who chose candidates didn't think that was good for the ER, but i wondered how i was supposed to present myself during an interview without being obnoxious. so i don't know really what i would have done differently. I thought i did well for my interviews, and if anything, the ER manager wasn't all that welcoming during my second interview. Sorry again for the late response!! Good luck!! Hello nurses!! I am happy to report that after approximately 150 applications to every possible place i could think of, i finally got a job in Texas!!! Its almost 2,000 miles from home but i figure now is the time to go explore and start in a new place :) I will be on a med/surg cardiac interventional care unit and although i was told it was going to a fast paced med surg, the "cardiac" part of it is a bit scary since I have never taken care of just cardiac patients. I was hoping anyone who currently works on a cardiac unit or a "cardiac interventional"unit (whatever the difference may be!) could give me a few ideas of what to expect... Thanks!!!

Thank you everyone. Its honestly very heartwarming how much all of you really care and spend time to answer random strangers. I guess thats why we all decided to become nurses. We are by nature, just caring people. @registerednutrn I will look into the websites you gave me. Thank you so much! Do you like the Texas area? I was actually looking at places to apply in that state but new nothing about where to start.

I studied for over a month and a half and finally took and passed my boards. I had 3 rounds of interviews for my DREAM DREAM DREAMMMM job and was waiting for 2 weeks to hear any news and i found out today that candidates have already been selected I've been applying for MONTHS for jobs in literally every state possible and still havent heard back from anyone. I'm feeling very frustrated that even though there are so many available RN positions, no hospital is willing to hire new grads. I know its just a matter of getting my foot through the door to gain some experience but at this point it feels like im never gonna get there..... Its only been 2 months since graduation but i'm worried cause I have to pay loans, and im moving out of my house soon, so everything seems like its not working out any words of encouragement would be truly appreciated

No I haven't tried calling HR. Maybe I'll do that today. Do you think it would be overkill to e-mail the program coordinator?

my program starts next monday and i still havent heard anything!! I had a third interview with the clinical educator/program coordinator on July 7th and he told me to e-mail HR to ask her what I should do as the following steps and I still haven't heard back from her :/

Thank you to everyone for their kind words and support!!! I left the testing center thinking it was the HARDEST test in the world, and i didn't know if i should be happy cause it was over or sad cause i had just failed....I checked today and WOOOOHHHHH I PASSED!!!!!!!! I can now join all you wonderful nurses out there in the real world!!! Lucia RN!!!!

AWW CONGRATULATIONS!!! I took my test yesterday and today seems like the LONGEST day of my life hahahah I hope I get good news tomorrow too!!! CONGRATS!!!!! So happy for you :)

So tomorrow is the big day....up to 6 long hours of torture...Any last minute tips for the big day?! I'm sooo nervous!!

Hey Lorie, what hospital did you interview for?

Yes. I just graduated this past May. Getting called in for an interview was honestly all luck!! I was so surprised, thats why im even more nervous about this whole process. Im crossing my fingers and hoping that like everyone says they're calling references and doing background checks!! Good luck to you too!!! I hope we both hear something soon
