  1. i am an lpn with 21 years experience, and would love to begin travel assignmets. does anyone have information on how to get started, and what to look for in a travel company? not having much luck with the sites i have found thus far. thanks!
  2. Valenda, Thanks for the response. I could definately live on $40 an hour! ha. I know what you mean about the children thing. I have wanted to do this for a couple of years. My children are now 23 and 20. As a mom, I just didn't feel I could commit to a travel job until there were on their feet. Good luck in the future!
  3. Tankitty, Thanks so much for the information. I am shocked about the percentage of agency nurses in hospitals, but I imagine paying a large sum to an agency is still cheaper for them than the benefits, etc., that they would have to provide their own employees. You said that some of the money is tax free for lodging, travel, etc. I thought they paid for our travel, etc., up front. Do you have to pay for everything then be reimbursed? Just curious, where is the County House? You mentioned that you and your wife are trying to make a difference, that made me wonder what kind of place it is. Thanks again for your help!
  4. Dear mytoon38, Thanks for your response!
  5. Hello! I am an lpn of 20 years. I am interested in doing some travel work, but have no idea where to start. There are so many companies advertised on the internet. Right now, pay is the biggest issue. Can anyone tell me companies they have worked for and what their pay is for an lpn? Thanks so much!
  6. rnn203, thanks so much for the info, i will try to get to that forum. i am new at this and having a little difficulty ''navigating'' around. ha ha
  7. i recently attended a seminar by the college network and i registered to begin working on the lpn to rn program. i have to work full time, and i don't feel that i have any other choice to obtain my degree than to do a self study course.....sitting in a class room just cannot be in my crazy schedule. have any of you dealt with this company? any good/bad things to let me know about? thanks.
  8. thanks for the reply. sorry so late for the congrats, but i just joined the forum. even if it is 4 months late....congratulations on your rn!!!!! karen (sashi)

  11. :balloons: hello everyone. i am new to your forum. i have been an lpn in tennessee for 17 years. the first 16 were spent in pediatric neurology and now i am in home health. now that my children are almost grown, i am wanting to get my rn. my home health job is full time plus. there is just no way to attend classes. i am looking to find a reputable lpn to rn program online. on the internet, i continue to get directed to programs that are rn to bsn only, eventhough i am typing in lpn to rn. i would like a career mobility type program that would honor some of my prior lpn classes and be able to skip some of the rn requirements. any suggestions?
