Yay!! I just got it today too :) Can't wait to finally meet you all!

Hi all! :) Hope you all are doing well!!! Quick question - to all those who are starting the nursing program Spring 2013, did any of you receive any information about orientation yet? I have not received or heard of anything so far and I'm a bit worried.

@tiger07, I was going to attend the Buena Park orientation but, my mom wanted to go see the campus for herself. Looks like I'm going to go on a weekend getaway for orientation to our future school! But we should totally meet up anyway since we're going to be future classmates - studying, cramming, stressing, and all that fun stuff together hahaha. And yes, I've applied for housing! I'm going to be living in the Village! How about you? And congraaaaats sarahbee!!! :) Are you in for fall 2012 or spring 2013?

@Live1life, I had a 3.7 in overall GPA, 3.8 in pre-reqs, and 84.7% on the TEAS. I intern at a hospital (I submitted 100 hours of volunteer hours when I applied - I'm at 200 hours now), I am trilingual (Cantonese, Spanish, and Vietnamese), and I also fulfilled the multicultural supplement. I'm from Southern California. Best of luck to those applying this upcoming fall :) I don't have the best scores, but I hope they serve as a reminder to just keep working hard, have hope, and keep your personality in all that you do.

@ Iamgonnabeanurse, You can accept the admission offer on your SFSU gateway account. (This is only for SFSU the school itself) However, to accept the nursing program offer, you would have to fax it. @ Spiffyness, On the bottom of the "BSN Response Form," there should be listed the fax number you are supposed to send it to. The BSN Response Form was e-mailed to me along with the Spring FAQs. I could just message you the fax #, if it makes it easier for you.

@Sunshiine, I'm a fellow clinical care extender too down here in SoCal! haha how neat!! In regards to your e-mail questions, I still have both e-mails: BSN decision and BSN response forms. But that's odd that happened to you. If they don't get back to you, just message me your e-mail and I can send you the response form with the FAQs and such. Hope it all works out! @ms.chia My SFSU admit page still shows me as Applicant. The only notice I have is just through e-mail. I haven't received any snail mail from the mailman! Maybe today. Im crossing my fingers for you

And oh gosh, I just realized I typed Spring 2012 in my earlier post. I meant 2013 * ... haha how embarrassing! Anyway, Im rooting for all you others who havent heard back yet. Keep your heads up!!

Wooo! Congrats, Nugget74!! I guess only Canada/Sequoia applicants are hearing back for now? .. Has anyone who applied to the regular BSN program on SFSU's campus receive any notice yet?

@dj_808 , I applied to their program at State. :) So basically the first notices they send out will be via snail mail? I just want to know so I can stop vigorously checking my e-mail account.... Hahaha

@SevenOfNine , I, too, have not heard from my other major but have received notice my financial aid awards!

@Lame - Ah really? In regards to your friend, I thought it only allowed for one major and then one minor? I know that the nursing app required its applicants to put "Nursing (NON-RN)" as their first major. However, I cannot recall if there was another option for a potential second choice major. Please refresh me :) If they DO permit being accepted based on your second major, that makes me even more worried because my application status is the exact same as yours! I haven't heard anything back from SON or SFSU itself either.

Hahaha, it definitely feels like I've gone insane. It's unbearable! It's like every nerve in my body has reached its full capacity of... nervousness. Ugh LOL. Reaaally crossing my fingers for results today Im from Socal as well, aiming for my BSN only, and am completely in love with SF. I really hope the odds are ever in our favor heh. (Excuse the Hunger Games reference - I just saw it last night and it was amazing!)

@ tiger07 - I am undoubtedly guilty. I am still checking my emails every moment and it is driving me insane to the point where I actually had a dream about SFSU's decision - two dreams actually, one where I got rejected and then one right after where I was accepted. Pretty... pathetic lol! :\ I have a class IP as well so Im super anxious. @ SevenofNine - SFSU is actually my top choice so far! :)

Gosh, I am such a nervous wreck. With letters coming out so soon, I incessantly check my e-mail and do not want to go anywhere but stay home and wait for the mailman. But good luck everyone! :) I hope we all get in!

It's hard to know what they're TRULY looking for because it depends on the rest of the applicant pool applying with you this year. Also I've read on SFSU's website that for overall GPA the average is about 3.5 while for prereq GPA it's a 3.7. According to that, your stats are pretty decent and competitive! Just keep trying and don't give up hope :) It's my first time applying for nursing programs as well and I am crossing my fingers like crazy for SFSU! Hopefully I shall see you all there this upcoming semester

Hey Angel, I wasn't aware that SFSU SON accepted letters of recommendations.... I thought they only took in letters that verified one's activity in multicultural or healthcare experience (paid/volunteered)?

Angelxeternity, I am extremely happy for you! :) and thank you so very much for your kind words. It definitely gives me hope hehe. If you don't mind me asking, but what did you do during the year after you got rejected from Fall 2010? Did you just continue building up your credentials? I'm curious because if I get rejected and plan to apply next year, I was thinking about using that 1 year of waiting to acquire an EMT license or perhaps take extra classes that schools like SMC or CSUEB might require. What do you think?

I want SO badly for SFSU's nursing program to help me achieve my dreams of being a nurse and doing what I love: helping others. I really have not wanted anything so bad in my entire life because I heard the campus and faculty are AMAZING, including the NCLEX passing rates! I know it be won't easy getting in, however, I really am interested in feedback or words of encouragement from those who were fortunate enough to get in and from those who have applied to SFSU. I currently do volunteer work at a hospital in Southern California, but I may not have enough hours to have a letter by the Nursing School app deadline.
