2020 NHSC Loan Repayment Program
Sure! It was a pretty easy process, you just complete the request through the portal system. I believe they did call me to get more information on why I wanted to transfer. They approved me with no problem and I actually got approved to transfer back to my previous site. Feel free to DM me if needed.

Here's my timeline: - Received my finalist email Aug 30th - My contract was countersigned September 18th -Received my welcome packet September 19th - I received my first monthly payment October 18th I'm a NP, HRSA score-16, I can't recall my D/I but I was in Tier 1. Good luck to those looking to apply next year, there is hope! Does anyone know if we're eligible to apply for a different program once we complete our contract? I missed the answer to that question during the webinar a few days ago. I will still have $100,000+ in debt unfortunately so wasn't sure if we could still apply for the NHSC program which isn't taxable? Thanks!- 2017 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program
I received my welcome packet yesterday! I'm a NP, HRSA score-16, I can't recall my D/I but I was in Tier 1. I received my finalist email on Aug 30th, my contract was countersigned 9/18. The payment authorization worksheet shows I will be receiving 24 monthly payments. After taxes (FICA and federal income tax) are withheld the repayment decreases from 60% to around 41% of my debt however this is still a HUGE blessing! Good luck to everyone and congrats to those already notified!- 2017 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program
I received a signature as well today!!! I received my finalist email on Aug 30th, my status still shows as under review as others mentioned. I can't remember what my D/I was but I know it was very high so this repayment assistance will such a blessing. Good luck to everyone, don't give up hope until you are notified for certain by the 30th.- 2017 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program
Thank you so much, that helps a lot! I was only notified that I was a finalist so hadn't received those details.- 2017 Nurse Corps Loan Repayment Program
Hi everyone, I'm currently in the "accepted award-under final review" stage. When looking at last years page it looks like prior recipients mentioned their award was really closer to 40% of loans after taxes were accounted for. I've messaged some of them to get more details about the taxes but I haven't heard back from them. Does anyone have more information on how taxes will work with the forgiveness aside from what's mentioned in the criteria pamphlet posted on the HRSA website? Thanks and good luck to those who are still waiting to hear back, don't give up hope yet!- Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program - Winter 2013
Tmendels I just submitted my application for licensure last week, hopefully it won't take very long! It was pretty straight forward but I'm still waiting on them to send me the fingerprint card so that I can complete that part. Let me know if you have questions!- Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program - Winter 2013
Great question Nursey86, I am wondering the same thing! Also, can anyone give a estimation of what one bedroom apartments range from in Nashville?- Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program - Winter 2013
Nursey 86- I'm in the same boat as you. I will be coming from Oregon and have been comparing costs of driving vs flying, and what to do with my furniture. I have decided to ship my car there, if you are shipping your car I would check out Transport Reviews.com - Ratings and Reviews of Auto Transport Companies - Your Source For Finding a Quality Auto Transporter! You can read reviews there on several companies. Have you looked into freight trains? I have heard it's usually cheaper to send boxes that way vs UPS/Fed Ex. Just some thoughts :)- Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program - Winter 2013
Jennderveen- I can't figure out how to reply to your comment (this website is a bit confusing) but I'm planning to get there Jan 14th. I have checked with shipping companies and I think I will ship my car and fly by plane and take what I really need. I'm going to sell my furniture here in Oregon and start off new in Tennessee. I hope I'm making the right decision but it's so expensive to move to a new state!- Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program - Winter 2013

Wow that's so close! I live in Portland. What school did you graduate from?- Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program - Winter 2013
saribeari My GPA was 3.2 and I have 4 years experience as CNA/Caregiver. Good luck on applying I'm sure you'll do great. I live in Oregon so I only did a Skype interview but the staff seemed very friendly! The application process itself wasn't too bad, I thought the interview was a little tricky because they asked many scenario based questions. I wasn't sure if my answers were what they were "looking for" so this 1 month wait has felt like eternity! I'm so happy to have gotten in, now I'm just doing a lot of research on moving as far as shipping my car/driving/flying... So many decisions to make!!!- Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program - Winter 2013
Great thank you that will help so much!!!- Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program - Winter 2013
Would anyone be interested in joining a Facebook group just for our group starting in January. I know like myself a lot of us are moving to Nashville from other states and it would be great to talk to others about living situations, recommendations on areas to avoid... I could set up a group if others are interested. It's a little difficult when you can't message individuals on this siter unless you have started so many threads. Thanks everyone!!!- Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program - Winter 2013
Congrats Lauren!- Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Program - Winter 2013
