  1. i am currently in second semester as well. REALLY struggling in med surg. Yes, the information is hard and alot of it BUT a terrible teacher what makes it almost impossible. Took so many classes in my college career, and have never had such heartless teachers as this one. but here's something to think about when it gets difficult.. "this too shall pass......like the kidney stones." it'll be hard and painful but it'll be over. another thing to think about is with so much going on you have to lean on God, and it's a time to grow closer with him and ask him to guide you and help you carry the "baggage". Nothing's ever too much for him to carry afterall, and that's definitely encouraging for me to think about!
  2. It is heartbreaking when you see nurses act completely careless towards people when people are sick and at their worst. Nursing is something I am passionate about but when I heard how nurses gossip about one another and other patients I was really turned off by the profession. But thinking about it I realized that not everyone is like that and I definitely don't want to be that kind of a nurse, so if I can make a change in a patient's life, I really could care less about the choices that other nurses make. I'm pretty sure once i start working with such nurses it will be very annoying and upsetting BUT we always have to remember WHY we are doing this. It helps me get by in school and i know it'll help me at work! I hope you have better experiences with nurses! there are some great nurses out there! i've had the pleasure of having them as my instructors for the day.. and i've had the others too.. the bad nurses show you what NOT to do, so that helps too
  3. Thank you so much for all the encouraging words! It's amazing how much all your responses help to start thinking positively again. I took the advise and met with a director who gave me some great advice and i'm meeting with a tutor tomorrow that will go one by one through all the test questions to see what it is that I miss; the knowledge based questions or critical thinking, analyzing.,. I really hope I do well and graduate from this ADN program!
  4. I'm in nursing fundamentals. it's supposed to be the easiest course in nursing school! how is it that i can't get a B? first test failed with a 72% (need a 76 or higher) and just took the second exam and barely passed with a 76%. Feeling really dumb. How am i supposed to pass all the other hard classes in the semesters to come?! watching those students in the halls that get Bs and As on their tests and wondering what they have that i don't...
