  1. Well my long wait is over...I got the call yesterday. I am finally a nursing student! I have been so busy telling myself that it's ok if don't start this semester that I now have no idea what to do! I am so excited but am definetly feeling nervous, I have so much to buy, organize and do in the next two weeks. I am a wife and mom of a wonderful 14 month old, plus I work part time (15 hours a week) so I feel like my schedule is already so full. My husband is very supportive and super helpful with out son so I know I am ok there. But I definetly don't want to spend less time with our son. So, any advice for getting organized? What should I absolutely have for the first day? Any tips on studying with a little one and still trying to get some kind of sleep so I can function at work at 6 am? And of course any advice for my nervousness about starting?
  2. Don't doubt how smart you are! If this is your dream you will do whatever it takes to be a good student and nurse. I have had the same doubts and spent years pursuing a degree in Chemistry until I finally accepted that I could be a good nurse. I still doubt myself but I keep telling myself that if this is what I really want I will make it. Hope you get into your program!
  3. Wow they are cutting the class size? Thankfully I received a call today about starting at the end of the month, I left a message letting her know I want to start. Hopefully I will get to talk to her tomorrow and it will be official! Thanks for the info, I may have to ask you more questions about the program :-)
  4. Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the info! This has been a long process for me and now that I have applied I am so anxious about starting. I will definetly get an nclex book and start practicing asap.
  5. I am feeling the same way right now. Due to our financial situation I am trying to get into an LPN program first, and am waiting (not very patiently) to hear if I will be starting this semester. I was told they tend to call people last minute so I am still holding out hope! That combined with working and being a mom to my beautiful boy has me a little stressed! Good to know that their are others out their like me, I think this will all pay off when we reach our goals, however it may happen. Keep working hard and don't give up!
  6. Thanks! It's good to hear from someone who has recently gone through the program. If you don't mind me asking, how long was your wait to start the program? Any advice for when I do finally start? Thanks again!
  7. Hi everyone, I am looking for some info on the gateway cc fast track LPN program. I applied for the CNA program in July and am still waiting to hear from them. After that I will be doing the fast track LPN program (then the RN bridge program). I was super excited about the program but am now wondering if I have chosen the right school. My concerns are the wait time, quality of the teachers, etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
