Heres some ADVICE for those retaking the Hesi A2 Exam
did you know you can go to http://evolvereach.elsevier.com/ and login with the user name & password that you had to set up before taking the test and view your test scores by clicking on my remediation and you have the ability to see the actual questions you missed? go login at http://evolvereach.elsevier.com/ and after you log on right below your user name click my content>reach testing and remediation then the page with your hesi score will come up. click on my exams plus sign instead of clicking on the hyperlink, and all the sections you took on the hesi will be listed. then you can click on each hesi section individually and view the exact section/question you missed, and evolve will provide you example questions on those missed for study guides. i didn't know this until today while i was looking at my retake results. i passed this time, but it would of helped me a lot if i had known evolve had this when trying to find study material.

Hesi A2 Math- Retaking it. I need HELP!
hello again everyone! i am scheduled to retake the hesi entry exam a2 on tuesday in order to be considered for admission into an accredited rn nursing program. i failed the math portion in august, so i have to retake the entire test again. math, english, reading, & grammar. i know adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing of fractions & decimals, converting decimals to fractions, converting fractions to decimals, ratios, percentages will all be on the test based on the test i took in august. i have a question about the ratio equations on the hesi. the actual equation will be set up something like this 100:2 :: 60:x does the :: mean =? for example would it be the same as 100:2=60:x? i can't find any info online about a ratio being presented this way with the ::! i have a huge concern about the units of measurement part of the hesi test. the test i took in august has reading problems with wanting measuring conversations in it. is that usually how all the hesi test versions have the units of measurements listed on the hesi a2 test? every study guide or flash card i've seen online has all the standard measurements & metric system conversations listed like 1 kilometer = 1,000 meters. are there some versions of the hesi a2 test that have math problems like 1 kilometer= ____ meters ? basically will i have to know how to set up a word problem along with knowing the units of measures? mostly conversions between oz/pints/quarts/gallons- 30ml = 1 oz, and 2.2 kilos/lb sound about right? i think my last hesi exam had like 3 units of measurement reading problems. is that the average number of unit of measurement questions on the hesi exam? or sometimes will there be more? the reading problems and units of measurement are the parts i'm scared about.

Failed HESI A-2 Entry Exam & not allowed a retest. Please help!
today was my first time taking the hesi entry exam at a 2 year accredited nursing school. i passed everything but math. i didn't have any study tools, guides or anything to study from. i had a week to study. last week i went to the college to inquire about the nursing program and i was told by a admissions staff member the test would be on 6-21-2011 at 9 am for the september enrollment. i asked for study tools/guides and she told me to google hesi. well of course i knew to google, and the search only gave me websites to buy a study guide. i could barely afford the hesi test let alone a study guide at the same or greater price. i'm unemployed. regardless i studied general basic math online , hoping to refresh my memory (its been 10 years since high school). i watched videos on youtube. that was a lot of information to try to absorb in a week, imo. i didn't get time to study any 'vocabulary' because i spent what little free time i had on math. i have a special needs child, so free time is scarce. when i arrived for the test only 2 other individuals were there to also take the hesi. i took the entire time for the math test, and knew i would most likely get the problems pertaining to the metric system/units of measurement wrong, because i didn't know to study for those types of problems. i imagine memorizing the metric system would be difficult. anyways after i finished the test i was the last person to get results, and i was told i made a 70% on my test. thanks to math. after the test i found out that another hesi test is being done this saturday! but was told i wouldn't be allowed to retake it because i'm not allowed to try again on the hesi until the next nursing class came available after this upcoming september class, which would be in march. that broke my heart! of course i cried the entire way home. i just kept thinking i want this too bad to let this knock me out of starting the nursing program in september. so i go back to the college and speak to the same admissions person that i had spoke to previously and she recommend i sit down and talk to the nursing director. i do, but it serves no purpose. she told me she couldn't let me retake the test because it would be the same test. etc etc. ok i can see their point to an extent, but it's not like i memorized the questions and i surely didn't memorize the answers, because most of my answers were wrong! i don't understand why they couldn't give me a different version if that were the real case, anyways! i just believe in my heart that i should at least have a 2nd chance to re-take the test before september enrollment so i could have the opportunity to start then! but according to them, you get one shot to start the class and thats it. the lady in admission even told me that this upcoming fall semester had a shortage of students interested in the nursing program! they had offered the tests in may too and no one showed up, forcing them to give the hesi exam again this month, and like i said only 3 showed up yesterday-counting me! my question: is there anything i can possibility do to get a 2nd chance at this test before the new class started in september? or is it up to the school or up to the nursing admin? i'm wondering if contacting the people that created the hesi exam, could make a difference?like for an example asking them if i could retake the test at a different site, or giving me a completely new test different than the one i took could possibly be arranged? i'll do anything.i've read online that most schools give students 2 chances.i want this so much, and i hate not being gave a 2nd chance!
