jk82 Im not a nurse or a teacher, but I'm an undecided college student. I feel the same way about everything you said. I want to become a nurse but I dont know which way to go...nursing or teaching! My boyfriend and I had our first baby a few months ago. I worry about nursing school and being a nurse taking away from her and taking away my chance to have a second baby within the next 4 years. Id have to go with the BN which I want anyways bc that particular college (southeastern louisiana university) offers childcare...my original plan was to go to a community college and get my ADN go to work and then get my BN while in the workforce but there isn't any childcare offered and we can't afford it at the time . So I've been thinking about teaching because I thought it'd be best for my daughter. i'd like to be a teacher but not nearly as much as I'd like to be a nurse! I was thinking about teaching elementary....why are you leaving teaching? Another reason I'm afraid of getting a teaching degree is bc of all the cut backs!!

I have already completed arts, humanities and english 101& 102. I just have to work on my math, psyc and bio in the fall. I wanted to take bio 230 this fall, but i need 120 first. So it will be impossible for me to take A&P2, micro and stats before I apply this January unfortunately. Do you know of any nursing students that were in your class that only completed the 16 hours to get in?

One thing I forgot to mention, the advisor told me that in order to have a chance to get in I needed to finish all of my general education before I even think about applying to nursing school. So is this true? I know that it says you only need the 16 hours on the website and I'm sure you'd have an advantadge by having all of the general education completed, but what are my chances of getting in with just those 16 hours?

I'm starting BRCC in the fall to finish up my 16 hours of pre reqs (I already have a few from Slu). I'm planning on applying to the nursing program in January but I was told by one of the advisors that there was absolutely no way I would be accepted into the program with just my 16 hours of pre reqs. After the fall semester I will be done with all of my pre reqs except for bio 230 (which I plan to take in the spring because I have to complete bio 120 first). I'm just super confused I'm just trying to figure out if anyone on here has gotten in with just the 16 hours of pre reqs!! So I hope to get some advice from someone!
