St. Pete/Tampa Nursing schools
I am just trying to gather a list of nursing schools in the area. I have my eye set on SPC, I have a few pre-reqs to finish before I can apply, but that whole all eggs in one basket thing.. I can take 2 more additional classes to apply to USF as well. I have a friend who attended South University in Tampa, knowing it is private kinda scares me, they don't have any prices listed on their website, has anyone attended here to know a general estimate? And I am aware of the usual Fortis, P-Tec, Keiser; I'm not really that interested in those. I just wasn't sure if there are any others in the general area? Thanks for any help

Best PCT Units?
I am looking for a PCT job at hospitals in the St. Petersburg, FL area for experience and a chance at a job previous to nursing school. I am wondering if anyone has any input on the better units to work in. I had a phone interview with Bayfront and she mentioned PCU & Telemetry, any input? I'm not against cleaning up crap & such, that's part of the job, but I figured I'd see who thinks their unit is the best to work in, any opinions help. I also want a unit that allows for well rounded experience, that which would be useful as a new graduate in a few years when I need an RN job. Thanks in advance

SPC Nursing School Entry
Morgan-do you know anything about Bayfront's EAYL? It sounds like you already have to be in the Program already? I'm trying to look at every angle. Just nervous as all get out way too far in advance lol. And should I try to apply for next fall even if I would still be enrolled in A&P 2 and ethics at the time?

SPC Nursing School Entry
Jessi - I really don't want to take them together, but I will get stuck taking Micro with either A&P 1 or 2 so I figured wth I'll just try to get it over with. They are the only two classes I'm taking this semester so hopefully that makes it a little better. Dp - Thanks, I am really nervous about not getting in, but I'll give it my all in the mean time. How do you like it?

SPC Nursing School Entry
I am just sorta looking for encouragement I guess. I have a degree in Environmental Science, but have always thought of nursing & I have decided to finally go for it. So I applied as a student at SPC. As it stands I need A & P 1 & 2, Ethics, and Micro & I will be done with my Pre-Reqs. I am in the midst of an alternate satisfaction for my Humanities & Statistics credits because they didn't transfer correctly, but I have been assured that will be taken care of. For the GPA calculator I came up with a 3.8. I am not planning on applying to nursing school until I am finished with my Pre-Reqs. I am taking A & P 1 & Micro w/ the labs in the fall & then Ethics & A & P 2 in the Spring, which would have me applying for Fall 2012 Nursing School. Some gut wrenching feeling keeps telling me I won't get accepted. I guess I am just asking if it sounds like I have a chance. If I got a B in all of the classes that I don't have, I didn't want to be too confident. I would have a 3.5 GPA. I am just wondering what the GPA & Pre-Req completion of those of you that got in looks like in comparison & do I actually stand a chance of getting in when the time comes. I know I was reading that it seems to be less competitive in the Spring, is this so? Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you in advance
