  1. Thank you for the news, but one of the guys applying to cgfns called them and the angry answer was, " yes, you have to have it in the application". Maybe that cgfns person on the other phone was wrong????
  2. Thank you all very much for the promt answer!!!
  3. Hi, everyone! There appeared a new line in the CGFNS application - gerontology. In the previous CGFNS applications this subject was missing. I finished my nursing school in 1995 and we didn't study gerontology at that time. This CGFNS requirement appeared only several months ago. Could anyone please tell me if I could leave this line blank or I will have to take gerontology now and if so how many hours they demand?
  4. Is it so that to be accepted for a NY NCLEX-RN, you need to send Child Abuse and Infection Control Certificates along with other papers ? Is this a must? And does NY NB accepts certificates earned and printed online? And do anyone knows where to find the websites which provide these certification programs online? Will be those online certificates valid? Please, reply :stone
  5. Thank you all for all your replies!

  8. Hi, Enigma! If you can read Russian you can follow the following link: http://www.privet.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61837 This is "privet" forum where this question has just been discussed. It appears that CGFNS dosen't mind diplomas of complete secondary education (10 years - in the past, 11 years - now) and they have approved one guy's diploma which he received after finishing his nursing school. He even did it withing 1 year, the so called "external studies" -eksternat. His wife told that CGFNS sent their approval and found him eligible to take exams. In their instructions CGFNS writes if you your educational background doesn't correspond to that one in the us, you could complete it getting GED certificate. Logically, then you can go to your local school and complete your secondary education after your nursing school. But Some Meladee from nursimmigrationusa.com says that you can't do that. I think that she is mistaken and told her so. You know what she suggested I do? First finish my high school and then agin enter some american nursing school. I stopped corresponding with her. Seems insane. So, I also am still at doubt. I know 2 women got rejected on account of their 8 years diplomas, and here we see that a man finished his high school long after his nursing school and he got an approval for taking exams. The guy and his wife sound happy on that. What do you think, guys?
  9. Will an international nurse, who has a child who is 2 - 5 years old, face problems in finding a job at a hospital in the US? Do recruiting agences and hospital HR ask anyone if she has children and how old they are? Is it a disadvantage when a nurse with a small kid is trying to find a job or to be sponsored? Maybe finding a good and suitable excuse they will turn you down? Has any of you had this kind of experience? I mean real experience. Because law is one thing and life is another. Any comments, please?
