I'm so unhappy with my job.
I guess I just need to know I'm not the only one to experience this. I have been a nurse for about 8 months on a med-surg unit. Our patient load ranges from 4-6 but lately we always have 6 because we are short-staffed. I wake up feeling sick to my stomach and dreading what the day might bring. I get to work and just do the best I can, but 99% of the time my day is miserable. At first, I had good days. Now I feel like I haven't had a good day in a few months. Half of the time when I get off, I just cry and go on about how much I hate my job. There are days when I feel like I've made a difference, but those are few and far between. I spend my day taking crap from patients and families and being way more than a nurse. I'm a barista, a maid, a caregiver, etc. People are so inconsiderate. I do my job and the tech's job half of the time and when I ask the tech to do anything I get attitude. It's always something and I'm just so sick of it already. What do I do? I like helping people, but I can't deal with 6 people at one time. I have stomach ulcers from this job already. No job should make you feel that way.

KSU accelerated RN program Spring 2012
Thanks guys! I wasn't planning on bringing anyone. I just was confused as to whether we were supposed to or not. I thought I had read something where someone wrote something about meeting "you and your family" so I was just double checking. Thanks for the replies! Anyway, I am excited and nervous! See you all tomorrow! Also, the GPA I was referring to was my overall. I think my actual GPA for the program was a little higher!

KSU accelerated RN program Spring 2012
@isabunny I had like a 3.2 or 3.3 when I applied but I made a 91.3 on the TEAS. When I went to transfer orientation on Friday, Fran said you have to blow them away in one way or another. She said people with great TEAS and GPA will more than likely get an interview. People with 2.8 GPA and 93 TEAS will more than like like get an interview as well as a 3.9 GPA and a 80 TEAS. Basically you need at least one or the other to blow them away or just have both be pretty good. If you made an 80 TEAS and have a 2.8 GPA you may be in trouble. My GPA was not that competitive seeing that the average GPA to get in was over a 3.5 but my TEAS was a good bit above average. @ Anyone going to orientation the 15th Are y'all bringing anyone to orientation with you? Parents, husbands, whatever?

Can someone help me with American Heart Association CPR? I don't know which course that is because there isn't one that strictly says Heath Care Provider Course. The closes says BLS-CPR and in the description it says Health Care Provider Course, but half of the ones I found don't have names from people on the list that was in the email.

KSU accelerated RN program Spring 2012
I had no idea because the only info I had was from the website. I hadn't really been on the website since probably May, and up until that point it said it was Jasper for Spring students and Rome/Kennesaw for the Fall students. I was really excited when I found out otherwise! I'm waiting too! lol I hope we all get to see each other in January!

KSU accelerated RN program Spring 2012
Good luck to everyone! Hopefully we blew them away this week. Just to share: when I looked into the program and I saw it was in Jasper if you started in the Spring. All of that information was online. I went to my interview yesterday and found out it was now at Kennesaw. That made me very happy since I live close to KSU, and I thought I'd share in case any of you had the wrong information as well.

KSU accelerated RN program Spring 2012
I'm nervous too! I was thinking more like 60 and 30 instead of 60 and 40 so I guess that's better than I expected. I just have to think to myself that I have to be better for the program than 20 people. It will be tough I'm sure, but I have to have faith that I can do that! I wish all of you luck and I really hope that I am sitting next to most of you in class come January! :)

I tried again this morning, and it still won't let me in. I am working and going to school right now so I just want to know ahead of time so I can prepare. I'm really nervous and excited all at the same time.
