  1. I was accepted and my act score was a 21. It would have been a lot better if we had enough time to finish the section! I also have a 4.0 gpa and all my pre reqs done except medical terminology and nutrition. I had good references too so that could have helped! I'm new to CCHS and I've heard getting accepted from outside is pretty tough. Needless to say I'm extremely grateful and excited!
  2. I have everything completed except nutrition and medical terminology. As far as I know in spring I'll be taking med terminology and fundamentals of nursing. I'm just going off of the website for spring start curriculum. As of right now the people I know haven't heard anything. Do you know if people have gotten denial letters yet? I can't wait to meet everyone! I'm beyond excited!
  3. I received the actual letter yesterday ( Saturday). Has anyone else heard? I'm eager to start meeting people! I'm so excited!
  4. Thank you! Good luck to you too! Hope to hear your good news soon!
  5. I was surprised too! It said congratulations on my acceptance and that my letter has been mailed and I'll receive it in a few days. I guess they are emailing as well because the tuition deposit is due the 30th, so it gives students enough notice. It had a 19 page package attached with forms about insurance, vaccinations, drug test etc. Also uniforms and equipment we need to have. Orientation for new students is Jan 4 & 5th. I'm so excited but overwhelmed getting everything done in a month! Thank goodness school is basically over for the semester and I can ask Santa for my equipment and fancy nursing shoes! I can't wait to meet everyone and start our journey!
  6. I got in!!!! I just received an email! I'm crying I'm so excited!
  7. Has anyone heard anything? I'm hopping to know before the holiday!
  8. I decided not to accept. I feel like it's just too risky. Good luck to all who accepted!
  9. Also has anyone gotten anything from financial aid? I received something a few week ago and am trying to see if that's a good sign or something that they just do. I know people who did and did not....just curious!
  10. Hey y'all! I found out today that letters haven't gone out and it will probably be next week before they do. Ahhhh! So I guess just a little more longer!
  11. Wow! So that leaves only 22 or so spots for outside applicants? Oh my I just got a lot more nervous!!! Everyone who applied let's keep each other Posted if we get our letters! Good luck!! Only a few more days!
  12. Nerdy Nurse...wow you have great grades! I'm confused bc I read some of your previous posts that said you were wait listed at a few places bc of ur low gpa.? Either way, congrats on getting into the program! Hopefully, I'll be at Cabarrus with you in January! I'm anxiously waiting the letter to come in!
  13. Do/did you go there? What was ur gpa, act etc?
  14. Congrats!!!!!!! I'm very happy for you! My letter is being sent to my parents house in Matthews so I'm guessing if it didn't get there today, it probably will tomorrow. Are you going to accept?!
  15. Queens sent out an email today confirming that letters were mailed today. Because of all that's gone on I'm not sure I'll attend if selected, but it's gonna be nice to finally know....4 1/2 months later! Good luck everyone!
  16. Well ladies I have officially given up on Queens. I kind of want to call them and ask them to refund my app fee and what I spent sending transcripts.
  17. Cabarrus college of health sciences.
  18. That's for the BSN degree. The ASN program is under consent order. I CAN'T BELIEVE WE HAVEN'T HEARD ANYTHING YET!
  19. Hi Dana! I also applied for spring '12. According to the website we will hear something by Nov. 15th. I'm not sure how many students they take but Ive heard it's extremely competitive. Ive heard that people applying with out being in their per nursing program has a tougher time getting accepted but I hope that's just a rumor! I have A's in all my pre-reqs and a 3.9 gpa so hopefully that will be good enough. I took my ACT there last Tuesday but am still waiting on the results. I don't feel confident about it though The school and staff are awesome so I'd love to get my nursing education there. I'm so nervous! Good luck to you!
  20. I hope all this turmoil isnt present in their program
  21. I spoke directly to admissions after reading your post. The reason for the delay has nothing to do with losing accreditation. If this was the case there wouldn't be a BSN program either. Also the probationary status that PSON has (which was from the BSN program, from what I've heard) is no secret, and has been public knowledge since before we all applied. The status is in affect until 2013, meanng that the spring 2012 wouldnt be effected anyway. The admissions rep I spoke to today said they are making sure they accept the strongest students possible which is causing the delay; however, decisions have been made, the letters are written up and all that is needed is final approval in order to be mailed. She also told me not to believe the rumors and that no one from PSON would tell anyone who called the information that you posted previously. She said to call her for the truth in the future if we hear any rumors. I'm guessing that the competition for the ASN program was tougher since the majority usually apply to that program first. With that said, I think we all just have a little longer to wait, but it's all worth it in the end! Good luck everyone!
  22. Wasn't the deadline for the BSN program Oct 5th?!?! And you already heard? The ASN deadline was June 15th? I don't even know what to think anymore maybe they are doing away with the ASN program...I've heard rumors Congrats! I'm happy for you! Hopefully I'll get in to the other schools I applied to since who knows what's going on with Queens.
  23. I know! It would be nice to know if I am excepted so I can get my work and financials in order to start in 2 months! We applied 4 months ago! Most big universities don't take that long! Ahhh!!!
  24. Also....I saw on Facebook that the nursing department has a department wide meeting Monday so the office will be closed. Maybe they are still reviewing applications? There must have been very tough competition for it to take so long. I'm soooo anxious!
