  1. Ther practice exams given by excelsior..are they free and how accurate are they? I am just now realizing how much time and money I have wasted with TCN. Ugh. I did just order the SG 101 for Micro bio today! I am hoping that helps to sift through some of the 42 chapters from the TCN book.
  2. The rashes are on the waist area in the back, backs of legs and arms. I was thinking they were in spots that would have been affected by laying down. Someone threw out the idea of bed bugs. I don't see that though. Thanks for the input.

We do all of our meds at meal time. When the girls are waiting to come into the dining hall, I will stick my head out the door and ask for anyone with morning meds to come in. Then same goes for lunch and dinner. Bedtime meds vary on what activity is going on that evening. If they are all up near the dining hall...all camp activity or campfire, etc. then we pass them out at the dining hall, other wise I am going for a drive. Our Unit counselors carry the rescue inhalers with them in a Bum bag just in case. Last year I had roughly 120 campers during the 4th session and 39 of them took morning meds, 2 lunch meds, and 6 dinner meds. I don't remember the numbers for hs meds though. Boy breakfast was rough. It made for me to never sit down to a meal at breakfast though. Kari
  4. I will be the Camp Nurse at a GS camp in Ohio for 3 weeks June/July. I am a volunteer trading my time for the stipends for my daughter and nieces to attend camp. I have already been hit up about rashes this season at Pre-camp. We have 3 staffers with rashes over a considerable amount of skin. What would be a good reference guide for identification of rashes, stings, and bites. I guess the one staffer tried, both oral and topical benadryl as well as calamine and hydrocortisone cream and they are still there 4 days later and still itch. When do you call it quits and go see a doctor? The camp AD Staff doesn't want to tell them to go to the doctor, because then it will be a workers comp claim. What type of Nursing job do you have that you can take the summer off to be at camp? I looked into some camp nurse positions, I can't believe the amount of money you can make working as a camp nurse...and even get to send your kids there for free. Now if I could just find the perfect position that lets me take summers off. Kari
