  1. Hi Suzie:) I am a nursing student and I think that its amazing that you are such a strong Christian who loves the Lord and who desires to spread the love of Christ to others through your work. I know that it might be hard because you might experience some resistance from those who do not belive in the Lord, but I think its important to, as Christians, not get discouraged when doing the Lord's work. Many times, I am not pushing my faith on others, but simply praying for them when they request and being kind in the way Jesus would require. Thanks for starting this blog to reach out to other Christian Nurses:) PD
  2. Thanks so much for your help. I really appreciate it. I will have all of my pre reqs done by summer 1. What did you think of the program ? What are you doing now ? Do you enjoy working as a nurse ?
  3. Hello, Is anyone applying to Burlington County College for Spring 2014? Have you applied before? What pre-reqs do you currently have completed? I am getting a little nervous about the whole process. Just wondering if anyone else is applying and how you are feeling about the roller coaster ride we are getting ready to get on. PD
  4. Rach, Yea, sorry I forgot to list that class. Yeah I took statistics. I need to enroll in Nutrition .. im missing that one =\ PD
  5. Rach, Thanks for the encouragement. Ill def let you know how i do after i take it. I have been freaking out a little. Not sure if I will be accepted but i hope I will be! Just spoke with the Nursing department about the application process, just to double check some of these pre-reqs. At this point, its a stretch not sure if ill be one of the 60 who gets in... PD
  6. Rach, I have taken Bio I and Bio II, 3 Chem classes, Intro to Psych, 2 college English classes, Calculus, and A&P I and II. I am currently enrolled in Micro, Developmental Psych, and Sociology. Will be done those 3 by the end of July. Still need to take Intro to Philosophy. I took Che 210 at another school but it is under a different name so I am hoping it counts. But if not, I have to take that also. Oh, and i am taking the TEAS at the end of this month. Did you take the TEAS already?? I am so nervous. I just want to get in but I feel like all this work that I have done still wont be enough PD
  7. Rach, I feel your pain. I have my bachelor's in bio and i feel like i have been going at this school thing forever. Not even sure if i have enough pre-reqs to be accepted. But all we can do is wait and see. Which pre-reqs do you have completed and which do you still have to complete? Did you take the TEAS yet? PD
  8. Rach, Don't get discouraged. You should still try to apply. I mean, I wont have every last pre-req done before I apply for the program, but i am doing my best to try to finish things up by the end of July. The Nursing Department encouraged me to apply though I did not have all of the pre-reqs completed. I mean, if they like you, and you do not have all of the pre-reqs, maybe they will waitlist you, and by the time they decide if they want to add you into the program, you will have had more classes completed. I have heard of this happening. Do what you can and be encouraged! PD
  9. Mary, I was originally under that impression also. But then, I saw in those courses could also possibly be taken as co-reqs. So we could either apply with all of the pre-reqs completed, or apply right out of high school with none completed. This is how the Nursing Office previously explained it to me, but it is a little confusing. I have a Bachelor's in Biology, so I have already taken most of the general classes that are listed. But, the way that everything is explained, i am so nervous about the application process. I was also wondering too about how they would like us to be available from 4 to 12. That is such a large gap of time if we would only be taking one nursing class. I know that some students would be taking the pre-reqs as co-reqs and maybe that is why they say we would need to be available from 4 to 12? I don't know. I would have liked to take more than one class per semester, but I am not sure if the classes are sequential, making it impossible to take those classes at the same time. PD
  10. Mary, Thanks for the encouragement and advice also. I am nervous about taking the TEAS. It has been about a year since i have taken some of these courses. But I have the ATI study guide and I have been trying like crazy to study everything before my exam date. I am glad to hear you did so well on the test. Don't stress about finishing your last pre-requisite late. I am finishing up Micro-biology the end of July. I am so confused as to what classes are definitely pre-requisites and which are not. I called the Nursing Office and they said to try to get as many pre-requisites in as early as possible, and to submit the grades for whatever summer classes that we took as early as we can. But as long as you have submitted your intent to enroll form to let them know that you would like to be considered, then you are fine. Are you a Burlington County Resident? I know that they give seats to the Burlington County Residents with all requirements met before the out of county residents. This whole process has been confusing and overwhelming for me. I am praying I get in!! PD
  11. Hi Mary. You asked some good questions. I am applying for Spring 2012 as well, and was wondering a lot of the same things. When is your last pre-req class going to be over? I spoke with the Nursing department early last week and she said that the woman who handles the nursing applicants has to look at all applicants for all other programs as well, so she has a lot on her plate. She is trying to get to reviewing them sometime in July or maybe even August, due all of the applicants she has to review for BCC. Mary, how was the TEAS V when you took it? I am scheduled to take mine in a few weeks and was just wondering how it was. PD
