  1. Congrats Judyduckett!! I just saw you in the group on fb. It's great to finally put faces to names. Yes, God is good. I'm not partnered, so I am truly blessed at this point. I've already decided that I will not take my spot for granted because there are so many people waiting and wishing to take my place. The stress that UTA has put on everyone is what they use to keep everyone focused once they're in the program. Again, Congrats!
  2. Congrats to those of you who were taken off the waiting list. For the rest of you, don't fret, UTA CON is still unorganized and struggling to get everything together. FOR EXAMPLE... Shortly after I received my acceptance letter, I mailed the acceptance form back Priority ($7) along with Delivery Confirmation. I did this because every time I fax them something, I find out that it was never received. I received confirmation before Thanksgiving that the letter had been delivered to the address printed on the acceptance letter and form. This past Monday I receive a call asking if I was interested in being in the program and that they never received my acceptance form. What is crazy is that in the same envelope, I sent my insurance form that they DID receive. Good thing I made a copy of the acceptance form and was able to scan and email it to them. Point being, hang in there, anything could happen at any time. Is there anybody out there partnered with Good Shepherd? I ask this weekly because I haven't found anyone yet.
  3. Personally, I thought the Path final was harder than the Pharm final. I just finished it. I'm cool though. I can make a 40 and still keep my B. I'm just so excited to be FINISHED with both classes!!
  4. Sounds great!! I guess I'll stay up to see how I did. :):)
  5. YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW EXCITED I AM TO HEAR FROM SOMEONE FROM GSMC!!! I live in Longview and have friends who work at GSMC and for some reason you are the first person who I've found who actually knows about the program. I was accepted for Spring 2012 and I have so many questions. Hopefully, you can answer a few for me. What days were your clinicals for Jr. I? Do you work? What has been the most challenging part of the program thus far? Is everyone in your class seem to be doing okay or are there a few or many who are struggling with the coorifice load? Please, if you have any helpful information, include it. One other thing, could you guys make a facebook page or something sharing your experience that includes pictures. lol!! Aren't you guys the first class of GSMC?
  6. Honestly, I haven't looked at the new material yet. I plan on spending all of Sunday going over the new stuff. I'm trying not to stress myself out about it. A new gray hair popped up in the front of my hairline waiting on my acceptance letter. lol. Sorry.
  7. I've found that the Nurse Assessment and Implementation portions at the end of each chapter are a great help as well as any case scenarios in your book. The answers for those are on evolve and give a great explanation as well. Good Luck to all!! I just want to pass this class. I currently have a B, but I must admit I went into this class with a horrible attitude after seeing all of the info I needed to learn, when in actuality I didn't need ALL of the info at all. This class is poorly designed and executed. Bless us all!!
  8. I made note cards for the different drug classes that included the info from the drug template: MECH OF ACTION AND DRUG EFFECTS, INDICATIONS, CONTRAINDICATIONS, INTERACTIONS, AND SIDE EFFECTS. I also added key points dealing with Nurse Assessment and Nurse Implementation. I did not put EVERYTHING on these note cards, only what I felt was important. For example, I only put most common and most sever Side Effects, not every single thing listed. For some reason, using colored note cards helped me a lot. The book is very well organized if you need further explanation in addition to the modules.
  9. I'm taking online Pharm and I hate it, but I must admit, I just figured out how to study for it on the last test. lol!!
  10. I thought that was a little unfair as well. Instead of just giving us credit for the bad questions, she threw them out and now they questions were worth more. So, if you missed anything besides those bad questions, it counted off more. That was so crazy. I'm so ready to be done with this horrible class. Worst class I've ever taken... anywhere!
  11. If you are planning on doing your clinicals at GSMC I would say GO FOR IT! I'm not partnered and got it. They are accepting 20 instead of 10 for the next 3 entry terms. I don't think that many people in the area know about the program. I encourage those that are waitlisted and are willing to do clinicals in East Texas to talk to their advisors about getting in at Good Shepherd. The program could use a little more organization and communicate a little better, but I truly believe that it was made for me. I wouldn't think of going to any other nursing school. I need the convenience of online classes and the convenience of doing my clinicals at GSMC.
  12. I was under the assumption, but in the acceptance packet there is a form for you to rank the partner sites from 1-12, with 1 being the place you'd prefer to be partnered with. I didn't really understand that step. I am not partnered, but I'm only interested in being partnered with one facility. If you're partnered, it does ask that you provided the name of the facility. I'm not sure how that form is suppose to work. Maybe its just for those who are not partnered.
  13. thanks, your change of address may be delaying your mail. hopefully, it comes monday.
  14. If you look on the Discussion Board of that Orientation you can see comments from last year's class. Maybe it has not been reset and was placed on our epic board by mistake.
  15. I was accepted, but I'm pretty sure that this has been here. Maybe they recently added material to the site. I think it was initially posted on my epic when I took Intro to Nursing this summer. Oh well, hopefully, its a good sign for you. Maybe they're making sure that everyone is prepared in case they get in the program. Good Luck!!
