  1. I also interviewed today. The woman who interviewed me was very reassuring and encouraging. I actually really enjoyed talking with her. It seemed like it was over so quickly! She was mostly focused on me describing myself and then giving examples of how I deal with certain situations... Good luck to you all!!!!!!
  2. I am trying to decide between attending an ADN and a BSN program. I have a MA in Psych and have worked in Psychiatry research in hospitals for YEARS. Do you all think I could get a good nursing job with an ADN, or would I still need a BSN? That last year of coursework that gives one a BSN - is it mostly research and administrative types of courses? Because I have YEARS of experience with those types of things in hospital settings already, and I want to begin working as a nurse as affordably and quickly as possible. I am not doing an accelerated program because they cost SO MUCH MONEY, and I have a lot of family to feed. I would like to do community college route. Most of them only offer ADN programs. What would you all recommend? Would ADN be okay? Thank you!
  3. Do you all feel comfortable with the bill for this education? I LOVE UH!!!! so much!!! but when I add up the bills for the MEPN program it is literally (in-state) going to cost me, with living expenses, something like $210,000. am i way off base in my calculations? 50K/year tuition for 3 years plus 20k/yr living = 210k how do you all pay for this? all loans? does that scare anyone? it scares me...... mahalo
  4. @PMFB-RN, How did you get your RN-BSN free? Paid by your employer? Also, as an ADN-RN were you able to successfully find a job? Thanks so much! I appreciate every response here very much.
  5. Thank you all SO MUCH! This is what my intuition has been telling me also! :)
  6. Hi. I have been accepted to two nursing schools but I am getting very afraid of the debt and may not attend. I will be between 80,000-120,000 in debt for my BSN at either of these programs!!!! How do you all justify this with nurse wages afterwards? Is it worth it? Can you all recommend ways to get my BSN without it killing me with debts? I have a MA and am almost 40, so it is ABSN programs that I am entered into currently because they take only 1.5 years. Traditional BSN programs take MUCH longer but what would you all recommend? Thank you!
  7. Maybe I sound like a broken record here, but do you all worry about the debt??????? I do!!!!! Do you all have lots of money to pay for MEPN program? I don't have any . Mahalo, aloha
  8. Did you ever get feedback about this question? i wonder the same thing...What did you decide to do?
  9. Are any of you all worried about the debt from the program? Even as a local I am worried about it. For current students, do you all have a way of dealing with it besides loans? Like do many of you all work while in school? Mahalo!
  10. I am trying to decide between KCC and UHM. I keep hearing that there is a "nursing surplus" on the island. Have you all found jobs from getting the Associate's degree from KCC, or BSN from UH for that matter?? I feel worried about everyone's warnings about the "surplus" of nurses and lack of jobs, so I wanted to ask you all if you agree with that. Mahalo...
  11. @DC275, Family.Yes I'm local.Goodnight all :)
  12. I was accepted. Best/blessings to you all!!!
