Magnet status? Hospitals choosing BSN new grads. Important!!!! over ADN??
that is true, i think it helps a lot to be enrolled in the BSN program, even if at the moment you are still an ADN, they really like to see that want to get ahead.

i understand everyones point of view about TCU being so expensive, and i respect everyones decision, although i dont know how many of you remember at the beginning of some of my threads i was very concerned for the same fact, but after a while i thought you know there is really not a price for the education that i may get, taking in consideration all the other schools that are way cheaper, and still really good, but after thinking about it i went ahead and just went there because after all the financial aid that i got from them i am literally paying the same thing as i would if i was going to tech or texas womans, and i thought why not? also they gave me a transfer scholarship that helped me a lot, from 18k my tuition went down to just over 7k, which is not bad for TCU. also i chose this program because they have the anesthesia program i want to go to. I am very happy here, the program is extremely challenging and they literally throw you in the water since day one. i am just happy that i am gonna be able to get my BSN right away, but im sure all the other programs also have their pros!

Fall 2011 TCU hopefuls
I actually do, I studied the book you have, it's a light blue one. It helped me a lot, I ended up making a 100on the math and in a&P but I studied all summer. They do actually go a little more in depth than what the book does, but nothing to worry about. They do have some vocabulary that you kinda have to be familiar on your own, and if youngest study the book you should be fine.

Fall 2011 TCU hopefuls
Danceluver, You would need to apply in November so you would get your notification letters in feb- march to start in the fall, that's the only time transfers can apply, and yes traditional term is pretty crazy, i can't imagine doing the accelerated, but you may certainly apply for the regular even tho you already have a BS. You can do either or. If you choose to donthe regular it would take you 5 more semesters, and I don't know about the price difference btw accelerated since you'll be considered a graduate student, it would probably end up being the same ( about 55k for all) i think.. And the hesi is different from the THEAS, you would need to take it again, that is the only exam they take. Hope that helps! Martha

Magnet status? Hospitals choosing BSN new grads. Important!!!! over ADN??
Really? Omg! Ive Been accepted to TCU and el centro for nursing school, and I'm really scared about not falling in your situation! So, why do you think you aren't fonfing a job? If you were able to go back and do it again, would you have considered a more expensive institution ( like TCU. 15,000 semester) despite the huge economic difference? Would you at this pulping have thought it was worth it, and you think that a BSN would have helped you obtain a job quicker?? Sorry, I had a lot of questions! Thanks!

BSN Hopefuls for CRNA or RN to BSN?
hello,, have been accepted to TCU's nursing program and El centro's Nursing program in dallas TX. Ultimately I want to become a CRNA, and I know TCU has a Anesthesia program in the same building. i have thoughts about attending TCU because i think it would look really good if i am a nursing graduate trying to apply for the CRNA program, considering that there will be many other students just as competitive I would like to know if by doing so i better my chances of entering the program? That being said I also need to consider if the debt that i will get into will make up in the long run, in TCU i will get a BSN in 5 semesters, and el centro I will get an ADN in 4 semesters. Also thinking about the experience i need before applying to the CRNA program, do they even grant ICU opportunities to ADN graduates or do they rather have BSN's?? thank you all!

help me! i need to make a decision: "college or University$$$"??
Wow. That is a Loy of money. But I'm sure that you'll have a great letter of representation infront of you. I am planing to work 3 days in the morning. Do you live in fort worth or are you a commuter as well?
-
help me! i need to make a decision: "college or University$$$"??
Wow.. I seriously did Not know that! And yes of course I wantto proceed to be a CRNA. Let me ask you: are you very satisfied with your BSN training for the amount of money your paying? also how much are you spending on tuition per semester? I was awarded a transfer student scholarship and it's about 3750 per semester, I'm still waiting on how much financial aid will give me, so I am just wondering around how much I'll be needing. I really am very inclined towards TCU despite the cost, as long as I get the most out of my education. And knowing that getting into CRNA school will be easier by being a graduate makes it even more apealing! Also how much are you really able to work?

help me! i need to make a decision: "college or University$$$"??
That is so true! I hadn't even thought about that. I just always thought thy they were pretty partial about giving preference to people. Like I don't know how much they will actually consider giving the spot to a student rather than another applicant

I have, but they are even more expensive than TCU, and right now that os what I am dealing with, also they have a lot of religion prerequisites that need to e taken there. But I'm sure is just as competitive
-
Fall 2011 TCU hopefuls
Yes I had. 94+ in my hesi combined, and I know this year they only had about 5 spots available. It's real competitive if you just transfer... Unfortunately!

-
Fall 2011 TCU hopefuls
Thats great! I hope someone rejects their application, that way you can get in. I really don't know any of the teachers so I don't jab any preference. But I'm sure that they are all great. Have you thought if applying at el centro? Why didn't you get into TCC?

Fall 2011 TCU hopefuls
Yes í am, i have the acceda codes And everything, i just need to pay my deposit. Are you in a nursing program or something?
-
Fall 2011 TCU hopefuls
No, actually i havent but regardless i the cost i have come to the conclusion that education should never be put a price, and since my ultimate is to become a CRNA I elieve I need to be as competitive as I can and the university will help me a lot! Dont you think?

Magnet status? Hospitals choosing BSN new grads. Important!!!! over ADN??
You're right. Taking out that many loans would make each semester miserable and very stressful. Im also thinking about doing CrNA, and the army offers a great program where they pay for everything and at the same time you're getting paid. The only catch is the 4.5 on active duty which is mandatory. I really would hate to join the army in that aspect, I'm scared of that, or maybe I don't have enough info.
