There will certainly be needs for LVNs ... One important issue is pay scale ..the pay scale for a RN will be signicantly more .. Also if you want to go into management in the future you will need a RN level to be promoted .. Everything is a trade off or compromise.. You just need to decide what is best for you. Best of Luck

I traveled for 10 years but do not travel now ... I am permanent now, but occasionally look on various sites just out of curiosity / interest.. I have heard good things about PAN and is the site I recommend if ask for advice on Traveler sites ... I also advise to stay away from Delphi, unless it is someone I don't like(ha)...Seriously I advise them that they will gain very little useful info. on that site ... And the info they get will be suspect at best....I appreciate your comments and info.....Best of luck to you in your endevors

Those days of huge overtime are OVER ... That was when there was a huge nursing shortage at CDC .. There is not a shortage now .The nurse worked as a RN and worked an insane amount of hours.A new employee could not do that even if the hours were available.. Due to the fact that overtime is given according to seniority ... Unless you have a lot of years of service there will not be any overtime left for you

I am an RN for CDC ...the CNA route will not help at all ... CDC should be opening the HUGE hospital in Stockton about the time you graduate. The big need will be RNs not CNAs.... There will be a need for RNs at the hospital ..plus openings will occur at the prisons with normal attrition ...as well as existing RNs transferring to the new hospital.

Crushing Cats would probably ban me also .. Or maybe she has .. It would be like firing someone after they quit... I am so through with her nonsense and bullying... Anyone that uses that site is someone that can not think for them self . There are the same comments the same advice regurgitated year after year really pitiful when it comes down to it.
