its faster if u guys apply for assessment in atlantic provinces. they are very prompt with their correspondence. i am an IEN too. good luck.
  3. yes. silverdragon is right. u have to prove ur competency is at par. nonetheless my experience is diferrent. it also matters what province you applied for. AB and SK as well BC is difficult coz it will be months before you hear correspondence from them and the tuition for the classess are high too. try other provinces coz some are very accomodating. my wife and i are classmates since 1st day of nursing school. we worked at the same hospital and we arrived in canada at the same time. but i was asked to take the sec and she was given eligility without having to do sec. she took the crne rightaway and shes a nurse now at a local hospital. my fate is different as i will ultimately have to take classess. They say sec is a way of assessing ur competency... but NOBODY passed the SEC without having to take classes. BUT, im grateful for the opportunity given to us.
  4. thats a focused sec assessment. 5 days goodluck... CARNA is slow in correspondence. some other provinces are fast. its the same assessment for all provinces coz it the same resources made from mount royal. try to study with complete understanding of the concepts. questions are practical. some are absurd.
  5. sec is a monster. i just took mine. yes they will fail u. they need to make money from us enrolling in their program... what else....
  6. took it this week messge me at [email protected]
  7. my wife and i are both nurses but she was not asked to take an assessment. she was already eligible and shes an RN now here. me on the other hand need to take 2 day comprehensive assessment. they have another body that does the assessment not the college.
  8. im scheduled to take SEC assessment this month. im confused on what to expect. any advice? need help. been studying for 2 months now and i dont know what to expect. thanks..
