  1. I'm a new graduate nurse, so I don't expect any institution to be overjoyed about offering me a job, however I have placed in 77 jobs applications over 54 different hospitals/clinics/nursing homes/assisted living facilities and I can't seem to get an interview. I noticed NY employers are interested in only hiring BSN degree nurses or LPNs. I was so proud of graduating and passing my NCLEX but now I'm starting to feel like a second class nurse. I notice my friends and family in other states do not seem to have the same experience, but I would like to hear others weigh in. I'm leave NY in a heartbeat if that could mean a job. Is this a NY issue or more nationwide than I would like to believe?
  2. I would like to know from other who have more knowledge than myself if RN to BSN programs completed at an online university are respected by employers? Just want to specify that I do not mean colleges that also offer online programs but universities that are entirely online?
  3. There is no "real" test. If you got a letter to go for an interview you have been accepted. On that day you'll receive your schedule and clinical site. Good luck. I'm just finishing 101 now and we have lost about 1/4 of our admitted class. Its not because people weren't smart or committed it simpky comes down to the fact that they failed the tests. Your entire 101 grade will come from 5 test. The first one is worth 4% the second, third, and foruth are worth 22% and the final is worth 30%. The tests are very different than what one might expect. You can spend hours studying all the chapters for the test and feel like you never see one question related to anything you've studied. Supposedly next semster 105 is worse, however I believe the attrition rate isn't as bad. In 101 all classes should expect to loose at least 5 to 10 students out of 21ish. Sounds hyped up, but I just watched it happen and we'll probably lose more people after out final next Tuesday.
