Tallahassee Community College Nursing Program
Sorry, but this is an old post. I am a proud present nursing student. I would suggest to keep your core grades no lower than a B and if you have any Cs to retake the core course. Get a 90 or above on the HESI and you will for sure be accepted into the program. Taking the microb before the nursing program also was a good move because you see this area in the nursing pharm course and first part of nursing fundamentals. It is a hard program but top notch medical teaching facility. Good luck!

Tallahassee Community College Spring 2012 Nursing
The Any Lab Test Now website is not very informative of all the services they provide. Again here is their number: 216-2586. They give flu shots and do Tb, of course Titers, and I am very sure the immunizations as well. They do background and drug urine. BUT DON'T GO THERE! THERE ARE NOT CONTRACTED WITH TCC NURSING AND THEIR TEST RESULTS WILL BE DENIED. t This is confirmed directly from the mouth of Dianne Douglas at tcc. Only Accusource for the background and LabCorps for the drug urine test is accepted. That one price does include both tests, but not the fingerprint service. Hope that helps clarifies things for you.

I doubt it. I used the read receipt option for my email. But, I have also been in touch with them by accident from my advisor needing clarification on my degree change. I did learn Dianne Douglas will be working on the responses next week to change our student profile code. It allows us to take charge by self enrollment into the required nursing program courses. The best way to guage this is, if you can't register for the course, then she hasn't got to your confirmation email to make the code change.

There is a course that cost $57 through Southeaster School of Health Sciences. http://southeasternschool.org/courses/basic-life-support-for-healthcare-providers/ . I paid and enrolled for this Thursdays night class. I do know these courses fill up quick. Also, for reduced student rates for flu shots and any labs and with an online $10.00 off coupon visit "Any Lab Test Now" http://www.anylabtestnow.com/Tallahassee_FL/Med_College_Tests.aspx or call 850-216-2586. Great infor Bodhi1337. Thanks for the leg work. Did you already compare with G Willies pricing? I also agree that just wearing a white long sleeve undershirt should do the trick for cold weather and specifically for you needing to cover tattoos. But, if it gets real cold and while we go back and forth from the health center to TMH walking, the ugly jacket even with the white shirt may be necessary. Finally, we all should have ??? had the MMR during our childhood immunizations, therefore, if we lost our medical records or if our present doctor can't determine this was completed, the titer test will produce results of whether there is an antibody present (meaning we were inoculated or not). I wish to also suggest going to "Any Lab Test Now" located in TJMax shopping center. The pricing is better than those with insurance and exspecially for those without. There is also a $10.00 off coupon online for services over $49.00 and some shots/test have student discount pricing.

Thanks. Stay in touch here. We all really like hearing from those going through the process. We feel their pain when not accepted and feel their joy when accepted into the program. It gives us perseverance and character and a true involved feeling just chatting to the likes of us here.

I am thinking the end of Nov or first part of Dec. I would love to be proven wrong. I don't have the nerve to call and ask if they have or when will they start talling up the scores.

Tallahassee Community College Spring 2012 Nursing
Nope, alternatives scores averaged between 138-144 and were selected as alternates and some did get accepted. I know one got 138 and is in second semester of nursing. Keep in mind; with ties it is broken by whom completed microbiology and then broken again on whom completed humanties. The chemistry at TCC does nothing for the breaking of the tie, but certainly puts you in the league as an applicant for undegraduate nursing programs potential. But most programs don't even test through HESI and utilizes TES and others. This is my understanding and I welcome all feedback to the contrary.

Tallahassee Community College Spring 2012 Nursing
Hello All prospective TCC Nursing Students; Starting a new thread of those that have taken or about to take the HESI first or last (2nd time) for Spring 2012 Tallahassee Community College Nursing Program. I did and my final score is 141.63/160. Not bad but far from bravo too. The sad part for me is I found the reading conclusions difficult and after taking it the first time, actually scored even lower the 2nd time. All my other graded sections was 90. My overall HESI score was 88.83. But this was my second time taking it. At TCC that 2nd attempt is your last score forever and a day. My mission here today is to create a thread of insight and for those students that may have received valuable information to pass along here and just sharing in general. It is known that those who get a total score of 145 and over usually get into the program and below -145+140 may get alternative. Of course I am on the questionable cusp! and my fate into the program lies with those students scoring high 90s. I am very proud of you for setting the bar high-competitive and wish everyone here taking or have taken the HESI test and applied to Spring 2012 much luck. Yours truly, Lisa

Tallahassee community college nursing Fall 2011
You are so lucky. I got my rejection letter today and cried. Is there another letter that goes out after the rejection letter that states you are an alternate or is it one letter in all stating you are an alternate? Just wondering if I have any further possibilities.

Tallahassee Community College
I know you are busy in your program, but I wanted to know if you first received a rejection letter, then letter an alternate letter followed or was it one letter advising you were selected as an alternate? Please respond. I received my rejection letter and was wondering if there was any hopes an alternate may come later.

Tallahassee community college nursing Fall 2011
Bella21; keep me posted on your outcome. I scored a total 135 from the possible 160. My HESI pretty much sunk me. I just took it today and although the Fall deadline closed today, I wonder whether I can retake the HESI (free)for Spring 2012? If anyone here has that answer too, that would be great.

Tallahassee Community College Nursing Program
If I take the test this Monday, which is the deadline to apply for Fall 2011. I have two humanties, one math and one science class yet to take to get my AA, so I will keep plugging in my classes until in hopes I am accepted one way or another and at last for Spring 2012. I am taking 3 summer courses and applied for microbiology in August with the remaining requirements to complete my degree. Either way is good for me, I will have my degree or I will be accepted and have to complete my classes somewhere in between it all or at the end of the prgram.

You have really been so helpful and I do appreciare it. I am pretty good in all other areas as well. I have a severe case of math anxiety when taking tests, which at times causing me to go blank. I think I read somewhere else that you were accepted into the nursing? What was your HESi scores? I see many people rettok the test days after the first. Is this by walk-in and paying again the fee?

Tallahassee Community College Nursing Program
Thanks for responding. I am so worried about this test. Math is my weakest of subjects. I have studied the conversions chart from the HESI practice book I bought and completed all the practice tests. Is the conversion questions staright forward e.g. How many milliliters are in a liter? I hate word problems. Do you remember any specifics there? Finally, any pointers on math and also the reading portion where you identify the main point and such is greatly appreciated.

It is good you are in a nursing program at Keiser. I gather it is a bit more expensive and requires the Wonderful and TES test not HESI. At least this is what they told my husband when he inquired for me. The verdict isn't out if the calculator is a current allowable tool. I haven't had anyone on this site yet respond to confirm as of most recent took the HESI at Tallahassee Community College and it was permitted. It would be nice to know soon. I have been taking every math practice test out there and solving by hand. :smackingf

You have put my mind somewhat at ease. I am just unsure from when you took it to present how different/change occurred. I know basic math, but was told there was lots of conversions and word problems. WOW for you getting a 100%. If that program calculator is still present, then that will make things so much better. I did specifically ask if the program had a calculator and they stated no, so I guess they don't know much. Good for me to know this now! I wish you recalled anything else about the other blocks.

Did you take the test at Tallahassee Community College and most recently? The testing people said calculators weren't allowed. I am thinking if they watch our monitor and see one is open they will stop the test. Also, since I have your attention and thank you so far; what did the math portion entail? Ratios, word problems, conversions, etc. Any other feedback is much appreciated. ~Lisa

Hello Girldotson, I just posted yesterday and no, I haven't taken the HESI even yet. This is what my thread here was about. I am in search of feedback on what the math portion entails. Is there lots of word problems? Conversions, Ratios, stuff like that and all other guidance to make the grade is appreciated. Also the writer here named Noel eluded to using a calculator and yet I was under the impression one wasn't available to us at Tallahassee Community College when taking the HESI. Thanks, Lisa
