  1. I have a rolling briefcase from ebags (I love and highly recommend it. Travelpro Executive First Brief) and a Vera Bradley laptop backpack. I plan to lug all of my heavy books in my rolling bag from house to car everyday to begin with. It is my first semester; so I am still figuring out which teachers want you to have what books. It will be nice to have them all with me, just in case. Hopefully, I will only need my laptop and a binder and I can just carry my Vera with me on campus.
  2. I am a first semester ADN student. We haven't had our full orientation yet but this is what I know from the schedule... NUR 111 is an 8 hr class that meets: Monday - Class from 8:00 until 12:00 Tuesdays - Clinicals 6:30 until 5:30 Wednesdays - Clinicals 6:30 until 5:30 Thursdays - Class from 8:00 until 12:00 Fridays - Class from 8:00 until 10:00 ...I am almost finished with my pre/co reqs, except for a one credit hour study skills class every Monday. Hopefully the class will not be a complete bore and can actually teach me something! I haven't spent very much time studying in the past; I have been able to make good grades just by paying attention in my classes. Not anymore though, now I have 3 hours blocked off every day to study. ...4 days to go.
  3. I have been nervous all week....I start my ADN nursing program in 5 days! I have organized a 'library' for myself in my dining room, established a schedule for class/studying/exercise/and a tiny amount of a social life, read almost every website about nursing school, and purchased all the school supplies I could find at Office Max. Nothing is making me feel prepared! My mom used to teach nursing at a private college in the area, but even that doesn't help me get a picture of what my life will be like for the next 2 years. It is such a strange feeling to know that I am going to be with my classmates, 40 students, doing something so totally different than I have ever experienced in college. Even though I am nervous about the new beginning and enjoying my last few days of leisure, I am so excited to begin. My fellow classmates and everyone on this board who is also just beginning are in for a rollercoaster ride. I hope that we are all able to find support here throughout. Good luck to everyone!
