  1. i'm also pregnant, currently on my 8th month...i was actually called in for an interview too around the end of March and my belly was obviously showing... i was just trying cuz we never know right? i received very good feedback from the phone and actual interview but they still didn't hire me, pointing out my employment gap as the main reason but now that i think about it, they could have just been saying that and the real reason was actually my pregnancy.... =(
  2. to nurse.sandi: thanks..i already mentioned it in my cover letter though...i'll try to revise it and make it shorter... i guess i'll just have to keep trying huh?
  3. Hi everyone! I'm a Philippine RN with a total of 16 months of experience in the medical-surgical unit from September 2008-February 2010. I arrived in Seattle, WA January 2010 and spent the whole year processing my WA-RN license (included TOEFL, CGFNS, and NCLEX). I finally received my license October last year but didn't get to apply right away because I got pregnant and had to go back home in December for a church wedding. I came back February 2011 and has been applying since then with no luck. In short, I have been unemployed for about 14 months now (Feb 2010-April 2011), and counting! I'm due this June but I'm hoping to be able to get a job about a month after I deliver. If the employment gap in my resume is what's causing the hospitals or nursing homes not to call me for an interview then I need help. Any advice on what you think I should do? Just keep trying? volunteer? refresher courses? Thanks! :)
