  1. You can't transfer to a university like UCF if the school is not regional accredited. If it is approved with the State of Florida, then you can get sit for the exam to get your license and work but if it is not accredited then you can not transfer to a higher education.
  2. Hi Denroc72, Thank you, thank you so much for responding. I really appreciated this. I don’t might traveling 1 or 2 hours either. I have a few more questions then I will leave you alone: Were you able to do some of your clinical hours in the weekend? Approximately how long does phase 3 take? Were you able to attend classes during the summer semester? How many classes did you take each term? Were you considered a full time or a part time? Thanks again for your feedback. I really really appreciated it. magda81 :)
  3. Hi Denroc72 , I am interested in ISU LPN to BSN program and would like information from a student perspective I would like to start phase 2 in January 2014. I noticed you just completed it based on your post. I am about to finish my LPN program and plan to take NCLEX-PN early summer. I already have a bachelor's degree and have all pre-req courses except for Microbiology (based on my review of phase 1). My main concern is finding preceptors in the Central Florida area- mostly Orlando. Do they help you find preceptors? Or, you have to find the person and they just do the paper work. Any advice or feedback is appreciated.
  4. The October evening class starts tomorrow evening and I purchased all of the books needed by October 25, 2011. Whoa! This coming weekend, I have to go and buy the book bag with wheels. If I have to carry all of the books every class, I am definitely in need of this book bag with wheels. I am excited and anxious all at once!

I had the interview within a week after the drug test but I don't think you should rely on that information because I did my drug test two weeks prior to the last set of interview for October 2011 class.

So, everyone has a different experience in landing their first LPN job! I guess, this can be true in any field. I know the economy is tough for every field and I guess it is affecting the nursing field as well. I hope ValDonovan find a position that you are looking for soon. I wish you all the best. In this case, what is the advice that a past LPN student can give to a new LPN student?I mean beyond doing the necessary things to pass the exams, complete the program and pass the boards. For example, I don’t have any experience in the health field; I will be depending on the clinical experience. Is it wise to maybe get a job as Nursing Assistant while in school for LPN? Is that helpful or it does not matter. I noticed that John—LPN, mentioned personal recommendation from a friend. I have not started yet, and I have a lot of work ahead if I do get admitted in the program. I am just curious.. I need to just take it one day at a time. Thanks again,
  10. evelina3, Yes, the vocab words are regular words that are use on the health field, not complicated medical terminology words. Words such as labile, concave, abrupt, flushed. I don’t remember all of the words. I just know that a lot of the words on the test, I also saw in the book. As far as the grammar, I will review the whole section in the book. Also spend some time reviewing the things below: Singular/plural forms Past/present/ future tense Their, They’re, There, Affect/Effect Good/Well Among/Between Amount/Number Fewer/less Also, be careful with words that look similar such as form and for... The interview was ok, I hope I get accepted. I think I could have answer one or two questions a lot better. Take your time and good luck.
  11. evelina3, If you review the book, you will be fine. Make sure you know the measurement/conversion, fractions, decimals, percentages and proportions. I mostly study math since I forgot most of those stuff prior to reviewing for the HESI.
  12. evelina3, I did not buy the by the actual hard-copy of the HESI review book. I brought the online course with Evolve Elsevier. It is called Evolve Self Study Online Course. It is not really an online course, I think it is just the book posted online. The online book is called Admission Assessment Exam Review 2. Anyway, I review everything in that online book and took all practice exams. Apart from the online book, I also practice my math skills by printing worksheets from the website called Math is Fun. Here's the link: http://www.mathsisfun.com/worksheets/index.php Also, on this website (allnurses.com), someone posted links for practice exams. I saved it on my favorites, and checked them out a few days prior to my exam. http://www.scribd.com/doc/27347958/H...ce-Examination http://www.proprofs.com/quiz-school/...hp?search=hesi Take your time with the reading. We were able to pick whatever sections we wanted to so I started with math. I hope this is helpful. Good luck.

@John -- LPN, thank you very much for your response. It is good to know that the clinical is not ever other weekend. I really thought it was... Congratulations on completing the program, graduating and getting a job as a nurse !!! :) One last question, how difficult was it for you to find employment as a Nurse? Thanks again and best wishes on completing your pre-reqs at Valencia and starting the bridge program.
  14. Congratulations ValDonovan! I wish you the best on your job search. I took the HESI exam a few weeks ago, submitted my application and required documents for the evening LPN program at TECO. I have an interview next week. I am excited and nervous. I hope I get through....

Hello John LPN or anyone else that have information on the TECO evening LPN program. I applied to the evening LPN program starting in October 2011 at TECO; I have an interview next week. I am super excited!!! I would like to learn a little more about the evening program if possible. I know clinical is every other weekend, but how soon do we start clinical (how many weeks after we start the program?). If I am admitted, I am just trying to make arrangements. I think I read somewhere on this site where a former day student from the day program indicated that during the first several weeks, they had a test everyday. I have read a lot messages from students that attended the day program at TECO, but did not read much about the evening program. I am very curious. I am very excited about starting this new chapter and I just want an idea of what is ahead for me regarding the evening LPN program at TECO. Any information or advice you can provide me is appreciated. Thanks, Magda81
  16. I am new to this site and I am grateful for a site like this. I am interested in applying to TECO and hoping to apply for their 18 months evening program. Anyone know much about the evening LPN program at TECO? Anyone attended the evening program at TECO? I just want to some general information about the courses, clinical and advice. I work in the day and is considering the evening program. Thanks :)
