  1. Hi! Everyone, It's me again. I already passed the RN exam and sent all documentation to CNO. Right now, my application is sent to Registration Committee for reviewing because of my police check issue. From the information of CNO web site: http://www.cno.org/en/become-a-nurse/new-applicants/ontario1/requirements-for-becoming-a-nurse-in-ontario/requirement-7/ The answers of all the questions applying to my case are NOs. CNO received my file on July, 18, 2011 and I am still waiting. I already got a RN job and am finishing my orientation. I requested the police service to delete my record and it is still in process. I am very frustrated for the waiting and I don't know what is going to happen. Anyone can help me here? Thanks! Mike
  2. Thanks a lot for your reply. joanna73 and cccormier, I was involved in a fight in 2009 and was charged with"Assault with weapon". The police men did not have the"weapon" (because there was no weapon involved) and no witness. I hired a lawyer and I only attended the first hearing. After two weeks, the lawyer told me the charge was withdrawn. I thought I wouldn't affect my annually police check. I even didn't notice they indicated "Does have infrmation on the file that may relevant" last year and handed it in to the nursing school. My recently police check has caught my attention because they attached a notice says I can appeal their decision. The form is still showing I have NO criminal record. I am thinking to hire a lawyer to fix the problem, but if CNO and employers don't care, I want to save this big money. Any suggestions?
  3. Hi! Everyone, I recently finished my Vulnerable Position Screening (Police Check) in Ontario. The report indicates "Does have information on file that may be relevant to the position noted on this form". Does anybody know that can this information affect my registration in the future through CNO? How about my potential employer. I just finished my 4-year BScN and am going to write my RN exam on June 1st. I requested for an appeal after I received this form but it was not successful. I have no criminal record and did not have problem to go to clinic placement in the school, but I begin to worry about my registration now. I called CNO a few days ago, but the person on the phone didn't know. Do you have any idea about my issue? Thanks! Mike2008
