  1. Do everything exactly the way you learned it in school, and always put the residents first. If someone gives you flack for it, ignore them because its YOUR certification not theirs.
  2. i currently work in a small long term care facility that was built in the 1970s. one night we were working the 11-7 shift when we received a call at the nurses station from our hospice room. on the end was a rather desperate sounding patient saying "help me, help me! im in room 110." the only problem was, our hospice room was empty at the time. on other occasions, fellow CNAs and nurses have seen a woman in a white gown walk out of one room at the end of the hall and into the other. the call lights in those rooms go off frequently when they are empty. the faucets have also been known to shut off without being touched, toilets flushing on their own in vacant rooms... to say in the least, 11-7 is not my favorite shift.
