Hi AT.. I've been reading your posts here from last summer and am wondering if you could share your thoughts on clinical sites/instructors with me in a PM? I start this Fall and have NO idea where to start as far as choosing clinicals.. Thanks in advance :)

SPC Student.. I had a 3.76 and was accepted first round but I had all my prereqs finished. Yu should have no problem with the second round once you Micro grades get posted..

Ok.. the letter finally came and my heart started pounding... I let it sit on the dining table for a bit while I got my kindergartener situated after school and hit the bathroom :). It was terse and to the point but I've been accepted! Yikes!! This was my second application... I'd been passed up for the Spring term since I hadn't yet finshed Microbiology and was retaking Stats to bring up my GPA... which is now a 3.76 in the combined General/Support courses. So now I just have to work out the logistics of doing the program as a single mom but I'll figure it out somehow! I'm interested to hear how everyone else did and if anyone knows what the average GPA was for first round.. PS.. Swingate.. I don't know why you think you wouldn't get in with the second pool with a 3.5. I think if you have all your requirements posted by them your chances should be good. Also, there's still the July application for next Spring, which isn't too far off from the Fall term..

Snowmyst.. I would recommend taking as many SPC prereq classes as you can online.. it's a great time-saver and I know I was really able to concentrate and absorb the material a lot better this way. As far as instructors I have to HIGHLY recommend ***** ****** for A&P... she is outstanding and she does teach online courses as well. (hopefully the board won't redact her name since I only have glowing things to say about A. N. :) ) Another two cents for you: Register EARLY, as in 12 AM the day registration starts to ensure you get a "seat" in your chosen courses (or you may have to wait another semester!).. if you can't get what you wanted, register for your second or third choice but keep checking back and especially check back in the course search the day tuition is due as many students don't end up paying and a lot of seats come available on that day. I think with the 15 credits you have yet to take you can definitely pull your GPA up to get into the nursing program you just have to kind of make it a challenge and don't accept any less than A's from yourself. Good luck everyone.. I'm checking my mailbox as well. I hope everyone who gets their letters will post here! I've got a 3.76 overall which I guess is borderline so I'm dying to find out who gets in first round and what your GPA is :)
