  1. I received the award last year and applied a week before the deadline. Also "NURSE Corps LRP will contact lenders/holders and check the applicant's credit report to determine repayment eligibility of submitted loans" pg. 29 on application https://bhw.hrsa.gov/sites/default/files/bhw/APG_FY2017_Nurse_Corps_LRP_Final-508C.pdf Fingers crossed, hope my wife gets this awar as well!
  2. Basically what CrnaTX said. The way I handle it is as if I had a second paycheck. Taxes are taken out right away so you don't have to worry about anything. Then when tax season comes you'll get a w-2 in the mail just like any other job. Hope this helps.
  3. Yeah I hear what you're saying. Just keep trying, I didn't even get a credit check the first time I applied and I was really down. I didn't even want to apply again, but I did and got it on the second time! Best of luck!
  4. No, just a Creighton University's tuition and a base salary of 42k lol
  5. So roughly 3 months from credit check til award email.
  6. I believe my credit was checked April 17 last year.
  7. Hi everyone, I received the award last year my DTI was 220% Tier 1 facility. I got notified late July with the offer. I'm hoping my wife gets the award this year. Her DTI is higher than mine was last year so we'll see. Good luck to everyone.
  8. Last year I was "under review" the whole entire time until eventually I was denied... What I mean by mistakes for example is that I left out a page on one of my private student loans. My wife also applied last year and she didn't send one of her school transcripts because it was a class that had nothing to do with nursing. I don't know if those are reasons to reject an application or not, it'.s just a theory.
  9. I was countersigned, I was notified as a finalist on 8/5 if I remember.
  10. Countersigned yesterday! RN DTI 210% site sore 14. This is my second year applying, I was shocked when last year I didn't receive my award but when I looked things over there were little mistakes here and there in the application. So this year I quadruple checked that everything was perfect. I've seen some people with higher DTIs and site scores not getting awards and I wonder if maybe there's a little mistake somewhere. Anyways, that's my theory. I was frustrated last year because people with lower numbers were getting it and I wasn't. Good luck to those who are still waiting!
  11. Just got the finalist notification exactly at midnight :) #RN
  12. I love my CRNAs :) You guys are very deserving of this program.
  13. Hi Ellabella, thanks for chiming in. Perfect example of coming into the conversation at the wrong time. You see if you actually follow this thread you will see who really is berating other nurses. But, good luck to you. Have a nice day.
  14. Lol I don't take a zero to the left serious. I just get annoyed when the blind try to lead the sheep... Changing the subject, my HPSA is 14, DTI is 203, and I'm an RN. What about you?
  15. Bye Felicia! #triggered
  16. Calling it how I see it. You've been giving people the wrong information from the get go. I wont get involved in your mental gymnastics.
  17. Preference is strictly DTI and HPSA score. Faculty and Advance Practice Nurses should have for the most part a higher DTI for obvious reasons. That's why most awards are received by said groups. For those RNs who went to an expensive 2 or 4 year college; you will probably beat out some faculty and/or NPs. The statistics clearly point to this. Again DTI and HPSA is all that matters. I hope that clears up information for new folks and those providing wrong info.
  18. They've changed it this year strictly to HPSA and DTI. If I recall correctly, last year people were hearing back the first couple of weeks in June. Then a huge wave of people heard back in July. However, in 2014 I believe some people heard back in the last week of May.
  19. I didn't get selected nor did I get my credit checked.
  20. Yes, I applied last year.
  21. Like I said before, those who have their credit checked are primed to receive the loan. I've only seen a couple of people who had their credit checked be denied. Last year I spent hours looking into these forums. If you really want to find out, look into the 2014 and 2015 forums and you'll see. I can guarantee you that if you didn't have your credit checked you're basically out.
  22. This is my second time applying... I've spent hours on these forums in the past. Credco has always been the company HRSA uses. Last year I applied and never received a credit check. This year thankfully I did. From what I've seen 90% if not all those who have a credit check get the award. Again, this is an opinion coming from what I've seen in countless forums on here.
  23. I copied/pasted this from a previous thread I responded to. I'm kind of scratching my head here... I'm an BSN RN with a 207% DTI, I work at a non-profit DHS hospital, and my hrsa score is 16 for mental health. All these put me in tier one... I do not have a credit check from HRSA/Credco on any bureau or credit karma... I don't know what to say.
