  1. Hey Sacnstudent, yeah it was about 5 weeks for me too....I'm sure you will be getting yours soon...no worries :)
  2. Just checked my mail and I got my post card as well...Its going in the mail first thing in the morning via Fed Ex!!! Hope all is well with everyone...
  3. Hmmm...I didn't receive this email ya'll are talking about...I hope that isn't a bad thing...now I'm going to have to call to make sure I'm still good to go. The only email I received was an email about my personal info being compromised during the send out of some list...I may have to go back and read it again...
  4. Hi, Noelle0910! I'm glad everything worked out for you...I'm pretty sure that was pretty never wrecking...now, we wait...
  5. Hello Everyone! I know its been a while since I was last on here but boy have I been busy! I know its hard work going through this packet and getting everything done, but imagine having to cipher through everything all the way in Maryland!!! I just flew in to San Antonio on Sunday and went running like crazy all day Monday getting fingerprints done and the drug screening done. I took care of all my immunizations before I left so I just turned everything I had in to the Nursing Dept. I was so relieved that they were willing to work with me because I was coming from out of town. I was worried that they wouldn't accept my package without the blue postcard but considering my circumstances, they did. I just have to overnight it to them as soon as I get it in the mail. I leave back out for Maryland tomorrow, then I will be flying back out here in July to Register....then back to Maryland....then back out here for good in Aug for the orientation and to start school....WHEW!!!! I'm tired already and the journey has just begun!!! Excited as ever and looking forward to meeting each and every one of you. Take care!!:)
  6. Congrats to you all!!!! I'm so proud/happy for all of you!!!
  7. Hi, Sonkissed! Yes, I applied to the LVN-RN program....
  8. Congratulations SacNstudent!!!! :yeah:Lets keep the good news coming!!!
  9. Congratulations to you BioBr8kn!!!! That is awesome news!!! I started crying as soon as I read Congratulations in my email so I know how you feel!!! Now I have to cipher through this checklist to see how I'm going to complete everything by June 1st when I live all the way in D.C.!!!! I'm going to figure something out!!! Best wishes to you as you prepare to emabark on this new journey
  10. My wait is over....I GOT IN!!!!! Waiting on the rest of you to tell me something good!!!
  11. Hi, Idiopathic! I applied to the LVN-RN transition course and still haven't heard either way if I'm in or not. I was told that all notifications go out at the same time regardless of the program you applied to, but as we can see, there's an exception to that(not sure what the excpeption is, exactly)...I'm hoping and praying that no news is good news seeing as how neither one of us in this long agonizing wait received "you didn't make the cut" letters. We've waited this long, what's 3 more days (as long as its 3 more days!!!) In the meantime, I'll continue to pray for us all and hope for the best....Take care!!!!
  12. MikeMya06, your feeling is correct. Called today and the date has been pushed back yet again. Now we are looking at Friday.....
  13. Thank you Noelle0910! Wishin you the same as well...I also wanted to wish everyone well...we got this!!
  14. Hello everyone!!! I called yesterday and spoke with a **** and she said that notifications will go out May 1st (which is kinda hard to believe considering thats a Sunday) so we shall see. She also said that there were approximately 1000 applicants all gunning for the 110 open seats per semester. A plus is that neither one of us has received the "sorry you didn't get in" email....sooooo....no news might be good news...still rooting for us all...best wishes!!!
  15. Hello Ladies and Gents, its been a while since I've checked in so I wanted to stop by and see how everyone was holding up...I'm actually in San Antonio visiting (on my Spring Break) and I got a chance to visit SAC. I went into the nursing building and I walked around like "wow...this could be me walking around in these crisp white uniforms" Lol....It was such a good thought...anywho...enough of my rambling. I just hope that all of you are in good health and in good spirits, and I will continue to keep all of us lifted up in prayer. Take care!!
  16. Hi Daisyis! I must say, I have that same nagging voice in the back of my mind as well telling me to go for my BSN...only difference with me is, I'm still about 7 classes short of being eligible to apply. I'm currently in school while I'm awaiting a response from SAC because I figured I might as well prepare myself for both. Cost really isn't a factor for me because of my G.I. Bill (ex-Military) but it is about to run out (I have about 18 months left) so I figured why not do the LVN-RN transition become an RN, start working and gaining experience, then go back for my BSN...but that seems like a good plan for me...I know different people have different reasons for pursuing either/or. I will say this...if you already have about 60 hrs and it'll take you the same amount of time to finish either way...I say go for your BSN, but only you know what's best for you. No matter what you choose to do, I wish you nothing but the best, and rest assured that if you don't know what to do right now, it'll come to you in due time :)
  17. Hi, Noelle0910!! Oh, I believe I'm about there myself...it's like ENOUGH ALREADY!!! I just want to know...Lol, but I have classes too that are keeping me occupied (yet, I still find time to worry) It'll all be over soon....and all the fretting and bad nerves will be worth it! Until then, lets stay busy!!!
  18. Hi SolairSolstice, yes, I applied online. Will that change how I receive notification?
  19. Hello Ladies!!! OMG, it is April! Shouldn't be much longer now...although I'm sure its going to feel like forever. I too have been checking my email like a mad woman, and then checking my spam mail to make sure it didn't accidentally get sent there...lol, I feel like I'm going crazy!!! As I said before, best wishes to you all and I'm hoping to see all of you in orientation, until then, lets keep each other posted!!!...And thank you so much SolarSolstice for all your help/suggestions. You have been a great help!
  20. Hi SolairSolstice, I agree wholeheartedly with everything you said...gives me a lot to think about. Well, my story is a little different. I was in the military (Air Force) for 10 years and my last two years in, I got married (to another military memeber) and went to LVN school in Wichita Falls, TX. My husband was in Maryland so needless to say after graduation and being released from active duty I moved to Maryland. I've been here for a year and a half and have yet to find a job! Noone wanted to hire a new nurse (they all required a year or more of experience that I didn't have) So, after about 6 months of looking, I decided to go back to school, finish up my prereqs and apply to the nursing program out here. Low and behold my husband gets an assignment to San Antonio, TX (we'll be out there by Sep 1)....so, all my plans had to change and I had to start gearing up for a program in San Antonio. I have to say that I am scared to death!!! I still have an active Texas license so of course I applied to the LVN-RN transition course, but having been out of practice for so long, I'm starting to wonder if I should go for the BSN instead so I can kind of get brushed up on my skill. I've been looking at books, procedure cards and doing dose calcs, praying that I hold on to as much knowledge as I can, but its not the same as hands on...Initially I was happy that SAC didn't require you to take a refresher course in order to apply/get accepted, but as the time draws near, I'm wondering if I would be setting myself up for failure by not taking a refresher course...DECISIONS, DECISIONS!!!
  21. Thanks, SolaireSolstice for all the helpful info...I think hearing anything right now is enough to calm my nerves!! And Carmen, I take my hat off to you and all the other women out there juggling school, work, and most importantly, children!!! I know it isn't easy, yet you do what you have to do!
  22. Hi! I'm in the same boat as everyone else....waiting patiently (NOT!!!) I pray that we all receive those acceptance letters next month...until then, I'll try to relax and keep busy!!
