  1. I say it depends on your work ethic and level of self discipline. I have taken many courses over the internet and also during the summer. Definitely don't recommend taking ANY science classes over summer if you can avoid it. It is too short of time to really soak in what you are learning, and your science classes will be your MOST important classes to do well in if you are planning on applying for a nursing program. Are you strong in English and Math? I recommend taking English or Math over summer, or over the internet. If you are very self disciplined, they can come in handy because you can work around your own schedule if you take them online. Also, if you get them out of the way you can focus on your Science classes which is what is most important. Try not to take too many classes that you don't absolutely NEED for the nursing program application. Many times you will have at least a year after you actually apply to take these classes. If you must take a science over summer, take Chemistry. It's a lot of work but not as much memorizing and studying as your Bio classes will be. Just stay focused, sit down and come up with a good plan for your class schedule. It will help to have a list of visual goals to keep you on track! Enjoy and best of luck!
  2. my nursing counselor worked with my on my student education plan a few days ago. she recommends taking chemistry this summer (3 days a week for 6 weeks) and taking anatomy, english and the nursing assistant (cna) classes this fall, then taking physiology and microbiology next spring (12') to apply for the nursing program next fall. is physio and micro too much to take in the same semester? i really want to do good in these classes, however i also want to at least have my cna license to start working as a cna. should i keep this suggested schedule or change it to taking anatomy and physio together and taking micro with the cna classes in the spring of 2012? what do you recommend? thanks!!! :)
