    Thank you for the replies. FLmomof5, I currently live in Massachusetts. If I pursue a nursing degree I would do so in MA, but I am planning on moving out to California (eventually). I have contacted both state's BON and haven't heard anything from either. I may call/email the school I plan to attend, my guess is they have dealt with these situations before. If I hear anything relevant I'll certainly pass it on. Thanks again for your comments.

    Hi all! I am considering a career in Nursing, but have a 12 year old class 1 misdemeanor charge (non-violent). This is my one and only charge, not even a speeding ticket. Can one contact their states BON about such matters prior to beginning a nursing program? Thank you for any advice :)
