So, I know sometimes it is necessary to cath an infant.....but we have a doc that works up kids even with a 1 day fever! So.....since I was an ER nurse (adult), who is now military urgent care clinic, I dont have tons of experience but have done it and know now I will be doing it more. Thing is, I remember there being 3f cath kits...now I am told they have only 5f? It seemed to large for the 5 week old we had. Do they still make 3f kits? Also, any sites that have tips? I find like the elderly...things are not always what thy seem and they are so tiny....any websites with skills videos? And since Im at it....do you agree with cathing infants, as I guess the new algorithm says? Thanks!
  2. Really HORRIBLE....it's slow, error message all the time, had one shift were all free text for over 4 hours was just lost, too many ways to do one simple task like check labs (which can lead to errors), too many redundant pop-up screens.....and I could go on! For the ER, if WellSoft :yeah:is still being used....BEST ER charting program ever used! I did travel nursing so have 5 systems under my belt! Any FYI.....the hospital I quit is already GRAVELY regretting this program!!! They are hemorrhaging money from it!! The floor nurses and lab are having issues as well.
  3. I am so horrified reading about the issues new grads are having....meanwhile, I worked for a company recently with 90% (no lie) of foreign sponsored nurses....their first job as well!!! Really ****** me off that new grads cant get a job yet we are still importing them AND giving them a place to live!!!!!! If hospitals would just get off their lazy a** and TRAIN new grads!!! Geesh.....its not that hard! I am very sorry to hear you had to go through that!
  4. No, it was Arizona State University...kinda high in tuition but very good reputation! Thanks for the info!
  5. And this is all accredited? Wow.....
  6. Sad to say, but not really particular other than I want to work with teachers who want to teach. I now work for the Army in a federal position and it will not so much be required as it is needed for my advancement and to get in the area I want to be in! Thanks for the info! :)
  7. Wow!! Thanks for the info! Affordable also! :)
  8. Hmmmm...ok. Have you ever heard of Excelsior? I am only doing this to get it done and move into federal position, which I may already have landed with the Army.....I have concluded this in no way helps clinically but rather a hoop I need to jump through!
  9. The elective have been great! The nursing courses....there's really no "teacher". They want to post material then walk away....they act annoyed if you ask for help...god forbid if you disagree with something, and in our statistics class (which was required) our "teacher" was absent for a whole week then stated "oh sorry, I was on vacation and had internet issues" We were all very frantic in trying to get through the content with no help!
  10. Hello! I am currently attending Utica College in NY online RN-BSN program and to say it's a nightmare is putting it mildly!!! I have applied to Arizona State University and had applied to Chamberlain (which seems a bit pricey) but wanted to ask any suggestions for an accelerated RN-BSN program??? I want to get this done as quick and as painless as possible!! Thanks!! :)

  13. THANK YOU!! I realized I didn't update the USA jobs stuff either!! Oh dear....think I still have a chance?? Also, if you would be soooooo kind...is there anyway you would just have a look at my resume before I resubmit??? I will post me secondary email if so....i would SO GREATLY appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Of course, I realized after having my resume stamped NOT QUALIFIED that I should have tweeked it!!! So...I am still able to qualify for this until July...but would MUCH prefer to to it tonight! :) So...anyone have any experience in submitting resume for Army?? I had always lived by the "one page" resume rule but am guessing they want detailed job description right??
