Here is the scenario Mrs. Law is a 43-year-old, overweight client. Mrs. Law told the nurse that she had right upper quadrant abdominal pain several weeks ago and nausea two days ago. She noticed that her urine had turned dark brown and her stool pale yellow yesterday. Embarrassed, she admitted having trouble with "gas". The nurse noted a yellow cast over Mrs. Law's skin and sclera, and several superficial scratches and bruises on her limbs. Mrs. Law was diagnosed with cholelithiasis and an operation was scheduled.
