Gordon nursing fall 2011
A friend of mine that was accepted, knows ar least one person that was waitlisted and she got her letter the same day we got ours. And I bet those on the waitlists will be accepted, because alot of people apply for more than one program. I will only be applying to Gordon because of its location, 20 miles from my home. with three kids in school I cant be an hour away all the time. I guess for all that were not accepted we will be gathering here again in 6 months. At least me know that it actually takes a minimum of 10 weeks ro hear back. They should change that on there web sight. The 8 weeks doesn't seem to have been true for a while.

Gordon nursing fall 2011
Congrats to both Chelseajo and an2on! You both have to promise to keep us all in the loop on how things go during the fall semester. I know you both are as excited, as I would be. My husband I talked over the issue of me not getting in this term, which we knew the odds weren't great because of my not having enough classes done and a low Teas, and we decided that I just reapply for spring, take some classes there at Gordon in the fall and if needed apply for Fall 2012. If after 3 tries there I still don't get in I am going back to my first school and applying to another field, health care something, not even sure what will be offered then. Nursing is in my heart, but if it is not in God's plan for me it will never happen. I gotta try Gordon though, or I will kick myself. Hope with this economy that Pell and Hope don't dissapear while I am still tryn to get a degree.

Gordon nursing fall 2011
This was my status when I turned in my application: TeasV: 63.3(I was two weeks into a&p1 and microbiology so didnt do well on the Science portion, I had mostly 75% to 80% in the other areas. My GPA at the time was 3.76 is now 3.89. Of the Prereques I had taken/and made: Eng1101 A Eng1102 A A&P 1 A Microbiology A College Algebra B I was In progress in Humanities and A&P2 which I completed with A in both. When I reapply for Spring I still wont have a grade for PSY2103 or History, they will be in progress. I will include a letter with my next application. I did submit along with my ap. a letter from The Honors Society that I had gained from mt previous school, and letters of reference from teachers I had at my previous school, and letters from achieving Deans list. Hoped that would kinda sway thm to pick me even though I was a transfer student. I did get a letter of acceptance from Gordon to attend the college before I applied. I think that there are several reason that worked against me this term so i will try again next term.

Got my letter!! I was denied, but kinda expected it, because when I applied I was in Humanities and A&P2(done wiht those now), and still need to take Psyc2103, and History. Also, my TEASscore was not great. Gonna retake the TEAS, take the summer off, take classes in the Fall at Gordon and reapply. Good Luck eveyrone else. God must have knew that I needed a break!! Buy the way for anyone else who might have to reapply the next deadline is I think July 30 th.

Chelseajo21, that makes me a little excited!! I just wnat to know either way. If I got in I need to take some classes this summer which means I need to line up child care and all that. So it would be good to know something soon. Thanks for sharing the info. I will be home all this week when the mail runs(spring cleaning) so I will post everyday(cuz I will be bored looking for an excuse to stop cleaning).

Gordon nursing fall 2011
Thanks again for the information! I have so many more questions I would love to ask, but I will hold off until we get the letters, no since in flooding my brain with more info if I don't get in this semester. If I dont get in then I will reapply for Spring. I actually feel as though it would have to be an act of God for me to get in for fall since I am just now in the process of transfering to Gordon. I won't mind having to take classes in the fall because I intend on getting my BSN anyway and I can take a few of those classes along with the two I need to take for the ADN program. For time sake I would love to get into the program for Fall but I have a strong enough faith to know that it will happen when it is best for me.:)

@cnhanley, I think that it is awesome that you are taking the time to check in on us hopefuls, thank you for your input. May I ask you exactly how many days a week does the program require? What is your schedule like, and any advice for those that do get accepted. Also, should I get accepted I am a little concerned about the fee's I have read about. I do get Hope and Pell but not sure its enough to cover. Do most people wind up with student loans?

Gordon nursing fall 2011
I know were all tired of waiting, and the rumors are flying like crazy, but no amount of stress or anger is gonna make the letters come any faster. I to have a future that is being planned around this, but I have faith and trust in God that it will happen when it is in his plan and that no matter what I will be ok. I am a little disturbed I must say by the fact that have to meet such high standards just to get into the program, and then we cant get a definate word on when they mail the letters, but the way I see it is others before us have had to wait this long and longer for there letters, so it is all just a process. The wait will be over soon, I will lift us all in my prayers in hope that we all get some peace over this soon.

MK126995- I really hope that is the case that people that applied to more than one program wind up not accepting at Gordon, cause that makes more room for those of us that only want to go to Gordon. Gordon is 20 miles and 1 or 2 red lights from me, and with 3 kids in school I just cant afford to be to far away from home. Getting into Gordon is my only option for becoming a nurse.

Gordon nursing fall 2011
That is what I am doing, although I have not yet started those 2 classes(psyc2103, history) I need at Gordon. I am waiting to hear from the program to determine if I need to get them out of the way this summer or if I can wait till fall. If I am accepted then I will take them over summer, if not I will take them in the fall and reaply for spring 2012. I figure the man upstairs has got this and when the time is write it will happen.

Griffin Tech LPN program
Oh the SCT 100 does transfer to Gordon...

Griffin Tech LPN program
I changed my Major after 1 quarter because LPN does not let you take any classes that transfer to Gordon, or any other college. The LPN core are not degree core classes. Radiology is a degree and requires you to take degree level courses ex. College Algebra, English 1101, and 1102, Pub. Speaking, Biology 2113, 2114, 2117.Psyc 1101 is as far as griffin offers so I took it and will have to take Psyc 2103 at Gordon, anf History that Griffin doesn't offer. I also took Humanities 1101 at Griffin to fufill requirements of Gordon. I have a friend that look the LPN core at Griffin and transfered to Gordon only to find out that none of her classes transfered with her. She had to start all over again.

@sowhat105 Thank you so much for shareing the info. I don't think that I am worried at all about the program itself, although I know it will be tough. My only concern is that I am a transfer student. How many people have you met or heard of being transfer students. My husband tells me not to worry that God has his hands on this and his will shall be done no matter what. I know that but can't help but wonder how many if any transfer students they usually accept.

Your stats sound great MK126995, but from previous threads I would say there ecceptance is competitive and all over the place. you just never really know what makes them choose one and not the other, and they give no hints as to who or why. I think you have just a good a chance as any one else.

Griffin Tech LPN program
Cant really tell you how to decide to stay or go, but I have been taking all the core under the Radiology program at SCTC because they all transfer to Gordon, except AHS 104, and ANH 109. I am waiting now to hear from Gordon, I applied to there ASN program for fall 2011. I only have 2 classes to take at Gordon that SCTC didn't offer: PSY2130 and History. I have been at SCTC for a year now. No matter what I will be going to Gordon in the Fall even if I don't get into the program.

Gordon nursing fall 2011
Chelseajo21, thanks for the info, but I am with you about not being sure if I believe the middle of April. I sure wish they would send them out today... like now. I have a special needs child and I need to let her home Nurse know what my schedule is going to be over the summer. The letter determines if I take classes over the summer or wait till fall...so I could really use a decision, good or bad! Pray with me that she was wrong. Who is she anyway. Is she the lady to the left when you go in Smith Hall or the one to the right?

Gordon nursing fall 2011
Hi Chelseajo21, we are both on two seperate threads now! Yes this is for Gordon, in B'ville. And I also am sitting on pins and needles waiting to hear something. My hope is that they mail them out this Friday, and we will know by next Monday or Tuesday. I wonder if the opening of the new Allied Health building(this friday) is delaying the selection process, and if by the new building being ready they are able to accept more students into the program? Guess we will know soon enough! Good Luck to everyone.

GORDON COLLEGE Fall 2011
If you look at all the amount of post for Spring 2011, and Fall 2010, and then you take a look at the amount of post that are on here for Fall 2011, it makes me wonder why a week maybe 2 before the letters go out there are not as many hopeful's posting this term? Maybe eveyone is just to busy.
