LNA classes in central NH?
Go the the American Red Cross web-site for NH http://www.concord-redcross.org/ . They offer the class at the NH Veteran's Hospital, but you have to go through Concord. I'm taking the course right now. It's very intense, but I am learning quite a bit and know I will benefit from their program. Hope that helps. Laura

anatomy & terminology books
I will be starting my courses in the fall...are there any books that I can purchase ahead of time that would provide a good basis/reference for medical terminology, anatomy, drug information that I could start reviewing? I want to exercise my brain before I get into the classroom environment as it's been some time since I've been in a school environment. Thank you. Laura

Shoes
Where is the best place, or rather, what are the best shoe options for working a 10 hour shift. I did a job shadow yesterday and after 5 hours I was exhausted and my back was in spasm. I wore sneakers with insoles, but I know that will not do it. My PT mentioned I should use Crocs, which I bought, but the sizes are generic, and the med size fits but bothers one toe...will these stretch over time? Or, is there a sneaker that is best with a great arch support? Thank you. Laura

Salary question??
$50-60 is a healthy income. What has happened in our society is that we base our value on what we earn but not what we give of ourselves to our chosen careers. If you find that your income is not satisfying, then maybe you have chosen the wrong path in life. Nursing is about the care of others with the return of an income. It doesn't matter what career field a person enters into, if you always feel that you are not being paid fairly, you will never find satisfaction in what you are doing. What I find quite interesting is that those who do earn a nice income, such as this, nickle and dime the small business owner for their hard earned income. Which, in reality is the same as what others are complaining about with their own income...they are devalueing their time and hard work. So, in a nutshell, we should all work hard; put our heart into our service, and strive to do well with our income, but not in sacrificing the joy that we all desire in our lives.
