  1. Poettree, there were multiple classes when people I know attended, at least two. Then, I think they divvied up the classes by surnames. Not sure what's happening now.
  2. Hi Poettree. I also registered for Mid Manhattan on Monday. Looking forward to meeting and working with you same class or not.
  3. Frankly, I never thought of this at all when I decided recently to become a nurse. Thinking about it now, I would prefer if no one assumed or wondered if I am gay. But if they do that's their bother. I will be too focused on this new challenge to give a damn!
  4. Those who want to go to Brooklyn should register as early as possible in case they are placing students in sites strictly on a first come first serve basis. They told me the demand for Brooklyn exceeds its capacity so some students may not get their preference. I will be registering for Mid-Manhattan by next week.
  5. Yep! Got it yesterday.
  6. Hi Guys, If any of you returned your application packet but did not get interviewed at that time, please don't wait for them to call you. You can go there between 10 and 2:00PM and get the interview done. I was told to wait when I called about my interview. But, I got tired of not hearing anything and kept calling until I got the person in charge. She told me to come in. So, if anyone is in that position, give her a call or go straight there for the interview. The interview went well (It was as casual as you mentioned, Poettree.). She told me that she expects I will get in and that emails should be sent around the ending of July. They seem to be having issues with available teachers but I hope they will accept us all.
  7. Congratulations NurseGuy1 on your successful completion of this program and thanks for all the advice and heads up info. I haven't heard from anyone who have confirmed acceptance yet so I think we are all still waiting on tenterhooks. At what point did you get accepted and how did they communicate it to you? Were there any special challenges as a guy in the field?
  8. I don't know but I was expecting to be interviewed, but all she did was check my packet and have me do the writing sample. So I asked about the interview and she said she cannot say because Dr. (Can't remember the name) needs to review my packet, look at the titers etc and then they will contact me re the interview. So I concluded that they weren't yet back to normal operations from the holiday and so wasn't doing any same day interviews. Others who completed their essays left as well.
  9. What the director told you makes sense and is only fair. Thanks for sharing. Once my interview is done I will join the anxiously waiting queue. Let's keep in touch.
  10. Hi Poettree, I finally got to hand in my packet yesterday. I tried last week but they were on Spring Break. I also did the writing sample but no interviews were done. They said they will call when ready. I think that was because the main person responsible is not back yet. So I am waiting. I will give them a week tops and start hollering at them if I don't hear anything. I wonder when they will start sending out acceptance letters? I know two people from a few years ago who never got their letters and had to turn up at Mid Manhattan at the start of school to find out what was up. And, of course, they were on the list and started that day. Just shows you have to be proactive and not fall through any cracks.
  11. I hope so too. I will be returning my docs this week. Lets see how it goes.
  12. Hi Poettree, Thanks for the info. I want to go to Mid Manhattan if I am successful. I am not sure why I was scheduled to do the TABE at the Goldwater location. Everyone I know who did this before was processed at Mid Manhattan. Will they assign us or will it be a choice? Do you know? I just prefer Mid Manhattan because I am in the Bronx and its easier commute.
  13. Hi Poettree. Congrats on your progress so far. Sounds like you are in! I am a male prospective student. Like you I have passed both Cnet and the Tabe recently. I am now preparing the docs to return with the application. Was the interview easy sailing? Or a real grilling on why you want to be a nurse? Just curious. Can't wait to return mine and get it off my head.
  14. Here is the number to call: 800.463.0786. I still haven't got mine. I took the exam on Feb 14. They claimed they posted the result last wednesday 3/9. They are resending it. This is very frustrating.
  15. I am in the same boat as you. I called them up today and they said results for those who took the test on Feb 13 were posted on Wednesday of last week. So we should be getting them anytime now.
