  1. I just started a couple weeks ago here. An incredible facility, state of the art technology, the best benefits out there and Minnesota nice employees. I am from Arizona and moved here two weeks ago, adjusting to the weather slowly but surely. My roommate is from Texas! Check out the Mayo Clinic website, and start applying for positions you are interested in! I know they have already offered positions out until July. Apply for as many positions as you are interested in and they will Skype interview you. Good luck!
  2. I would say the most important factor is the essay and an extensive resume. At least it was for me. My nursing gpa is not strong, a 3.5 but my resume includes: volunteering at an elementary school nurses' office, interning with the health department, volunteering abroad in Peru as a student nurse, volunteering in Costa Rica for community development, studying art as healing in Italy, working at a public library for 5+ years, multiple scholarships, and active SNA member. In my essays, I wrote from the heart and exemplified my commitment for nursing. I wrote about my background and what I want to strive for in the nursing career. It was thorough, anecdotal, and displayed my knowledge of the Mayo Clinic and what it stands for. I also wrote a lot about culturally-sensitive care. You are welcome to PM me and I'll give you my personal email so when you come up to the application process, I can help edit your essays. I had several past Summer IIIs look at mine before I submitted and would be happy to do the same for others. Hope this helps!, good luck!
  3. I haven't received a link email yet. But we have a conversation going about it in our Facebook group page, along with other questions about this summer: https://www.facebook.com/groups/699630270058436/
  4. Nothing. I emailed them and have not received a reply.

  6. Since when did FB require you to add friends you have before you start a FB group?? I can't start it because I am not friends with any of your on FB yet… Maybe someone else can get it to work?? I'm sorry, I'm failing at this :-/
  7. I am making a Facebook group page but I need at least one other member to invite into it. Let me know how to find you on Facebook :)
  8. 3:23 and I am in Arizona. Congratulations Leah!!!
  9. I received an email with ALL the documents that are due Feb 28th. Lots of information they want!
  10. I'm dying. They chose 50 students!!!
  11. Omg omg omg omg i got offered!!!!!
  12. My brain is not going to function until I find out >. Trying to do family nursing homework and I cannot focus!!
  13. Nope. I think you get an automatic email if the job status changes. We should hear something by 5pm tonight. Keeping my fingers crossed!!
  14. BRACE YOURSELVES: This is the reply I received from Latasha just now: They will be going out later today via email. AHHHHHHHH
  15. Just realized this is on the faqs page… technically they can wait another week/week and a half before they send out offers. BAH!: When will I learn if I've been accepted into the externship? You will receive a notification in late February.
  16. Position still says Open and Application in Review. Tomorrow is the day. Maybe.
  17. Good idea! I was told we would have heard the end of last week or early this week so really disappointed we still haven't heard and that we might have to wait another weekend! >.
  18. Crossing my fingers for an answer in my email during breakfast!
  19. Is it safe to say that since my job status has not changed out of "Application in Review" - that I probably won't get an offer?? :/
  20. Exactly my question. Whhhhhyyyy LaTasha! Maybe thats why its taking so long, they are narrowing down the pool even further...
  21. FYI! I also had a conversation with Latasha who said the end of this week, or early week and that with the 800 applications they are accepting half the amount of students that they used to. "Previous years we accepted a little over 100, and we have cut that to about half now." :-(
  22. Good luck everyone!! I am applying to many other externships because of how competitive this is. I am excited to hear and congratulate all who gets this incredible opportunity! Just a couple more days!
  23. WOW!! You are incredibly considerate to take the time to write this for us. I super appreciate your insight!!! Thank you !!
