  1. KCbaby57- From what I understand, a number of applicants who applied to start in May 2011 were accepted early to the Jan 2012 program because of the SON budget cuts and subsequently the switch to only accepting ABSN students once a year (in the spring) as opposed to twice a year. I'm guessing that's the case here? Here is the press release explaining what happened: https://nursing-edit.unc.edu/news-events/CCM1_043038 Hope that helped!
  2. I was under the impression that they were still accepting applications for spring in addition to the applications which were deferred from summer. I'm honestly not sure how they are dealing with the transition though, so I may be wrong. I'm hopefully going to the next informational session; I'm sure they will clarify the situation then. Good luck with UCLA, that's really exciting!
  3. I haven't applied yet but I've been planning on applying for January matriculation. I have a feeling UNC will have a pretty large applicant pool for the spring with all the cuts, but I'm sure some of the people that applied for the summer decided to go ahead with another program instead of deferring. I'm just ready to have my application in and know the outcome :)
  4. The statement UNC released said they are only accepting BSN students for summer matriculation and only ABSN students for January matriculation, so it depends which program you are applying to. Best of luck!
