  1. kel3 i completely understand the concern about spending time away from the family due to the heavy course load the ace program demands. i have a one year old and i try to make sure in between finishing my last pre reqs that i don't miss a moment. while at the doctors, i ran into a recent gsu ace grad that had young children. her best advice was to make time for both. she would set a timer for about two hrs and explain to her kids once the timer went off, she would play with them. although, this would not work with my young son, i try to limit my study time to when he is sleeping. and if i can, make a game out of some of my study questions. that way i can study and play at the same time. right now, i'm trying to finish completing the check off list, i think i have 1 thing left, and get ahead start on fall. i bought all the books except for 3 and hoping i can get a copy of the syllabus from someone in the ace program so i can start reading. i am hoping after reading some of the post from mirashu, that i can transition into fall easily. if anyone else has any advice about how to deal with the first semester, please share? mirashu i really appreicate all your post. after reading your posts, i went from extremely anxious to regular level of anxiousness with a little nervousness
  2. KatyGSU, I recently completed my CPR class through a company called Safety and Health Solutions. The class is AHA certified and you receive your AHA CPR card at the end of the class. The class wasn't very long. It lasted about 5 hrs, but it was alot of fun. They offer a lot of opportunities to take the class. Hope this helps.
  3. Hi. I recently applied to an accelerated BSN nursing program and a traditional BSN program. Although i would be thrilled to get into either, i have to start preparing for one because the preqs I need to finish for each program is different. Thus is the additional semester of course work that is required by the traditional track worth more (for the lack of a better work) then the time I could spend in the summer getting hands on experience through an externships? Also, since so many hospital in Atlanta have a training program for new grads, would it be better to finish quickly or would the experience of the externships provide a edge of this already competitive market? Any insight from anyone would be great
