I just take packets of loose leaf paper that are binded together to class for notes. I have one pocket folder for all my handouts and such and I just have it so that one pocket is for half of my classes and the other pocket is for the other half of my classes. I seem so unorganized compared to everyone else, haha. But I understand how MY stuff is organized and that's all the matters to ME. Everyone is different though, so just see what works best for you.

Definitely go with dorms! I find it the greatest experience ever, as I am about three weeks away from finishing my freshman year. You will meet tons of people, trust me. I am really not that social but I feel like every time I walk into the building I say hi to someone I know. What's great about my school.. and hopefully yours does this too, is that it's a Nursing and Allied Health building; pretty much every one has class together and the same majors. My roommate is actually in nursing too, so if we ever have questions about one of our classes we can ask each other for help. The only thing is I don't really advise rooming with someone that is the same intelligence because she seems to get salty when I don't study for things and she studies her butt off to get the same grade. Just a heads up! Lol, but anyways, I definitely advise it. I feel like if I lived in an apartment I wouldn't know anything that's going on on campus either. I know about all the concerts and activities.. I'm also in a nursing fraternity and honors society. They also have study sessions at night for most classes to help with tests. If your roommates bother you at first you can always get a room change, plus if noise is a problem just go to a study lounge like previously stated or go to the library.

Thank you guys! You both gave great advice. The only reason why I have my availability is because when I called the organization they told me to include my availability hours somewhere in my cover letter. I realized no one puts them on samples, so should I keep the hours on there due to what the manager prefers or should I just have them call on information about my availability?

This is my first time writing both. I am only a freshman in college, so obviously I don't have any clinical work or anything like that to include. I just want some constructive criticism. The job is at a small place pretty much hidden, if you haven't heard of it from a previous employee, then you probably never heard of it. Hahaha. So here it goes, I plan on sending it in on Monday through fax since their office is not open on weekends. i used one of those too! there's a really good one that i had that followed lecture perfectly, but i can't remember the name of it. it was only like five bucks on amazon but totally worth it!

I know a lot of people in my university struggle with those classes mainly because we have one teacher for each subject, which both speak little English. -__- Uhm there was an interactive website I used during anatomy online that was free and you can test yourself with where the parts are of the heart, but I don't believe it helps with how the body works.. http://ect.downstate.edu/courseware/haonline/quiz.htm I believed that site helped a lot, but then again we also had to label a cadaver.

The thing is, it sadly would just be a summer job, with the intent to come back every summer and possibly land an RN job there once I'm done school. I go to school 5 hours away from my hometown, so I can't work during the school year, just during breaks. But thanks for the advice! Most hospitals near me are large and probably have hundreds of volunteers. I think I may still volunteer over break to learn some things. :)

I was wondering if volunteering for a week at a local hospital would help them be more interested in hiring me during the summer. I am working on completing my second semester of the BSN program and I'm looking into applying to be a PCT/PCA during the summer. Would volunteering at the hospital even leave an effect, or would they forget I even helped their hospital out?
