  1. Hello Everyone, I was looking online a while back and I fell in love with Stony Brook in New York and the accelerated BSN program that they offer. Here's what I'm working with: Anatomy & Physiology 1: B Anatomy & Physiology 2: In progress (anticipating B) Microbiology: B Chemistry 1: C Physics: B My undergraduate gpa: 2.909 (Bachelor of Arts in Women's Studies) Graduate School gpa: 3.7 (Master of Science Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis) (Both degrees from the University of Wisconsin) I just finished my CNA course 2 weeks ago and I test on March 23rd (I'll definitely pass, no doubt in my mind) I will have 6 months (more or less) of healthcare experience when I apply to Stony Brook's Accelerated BSN Program. Here are my questions: 1. Do you think I'll get admitted? 2. What's Stony Brook's acceptance rate into the accelerated BSN program? 3. Who should write my 3 letter's of recommendation? 4. What is the tuition? 5. Are there any other great programs with 5 prerequisite courses anywhere in the country that I should take a look at? Thanks a bunch! :-)
  2. That makes a lot of sense in a way, but way would a master's degree be looked at as "less than" a BSN? Especially if with either program the end result is a RN license?
  3. Dang! That sucks :-( Good luck with that! If I were you, I'd research 3 year BSN programs in your state....may as well do an extra year and have a bachelor's degree instead! :-)
  4. ELM = Entry Level Master's CNL - Clinical Nurse Leader CRNA - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
  5. Yeah, I have a BA and a MS already (I'm only 23, so my brain needs to relax before I begin my BSN journey)...so I'm not looking forward to all those prerequisites:-) Thanks for the response.
  6. Thanks a lot! :-) I appreciate your help.
  7. I will be applying to accelerated bsn programs in January, but the programs that I have been looking at so far say that I need to take 8-9 prerequisite courses in order to apply, that's A LOT of school to cram into a summer and the fall semester. Which Accelerated BSN Programs have the least amount of prerequisite courses to complete before applying?
  8. Thanks so much! That actually helped a lot. :-)
  9. Hello Lovely People, Please help me figure out the best step to take towards my nursing career. I am 23 years old and I will be graduating with my master's degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis in May, but I want to be a nurse. I have recently completed my Nursing Assistant course at a technical college in the area to gain healthcare experience before I move forward with my nursing career. Here's The Issue: I'm struggling with the decision to apply to Accelerated BSN programs or Entry MSN programs. Since I already have a Master's degree, and since I know that my ultimate goal is to be a CRNA, what would be the best route for me to take? I know that there have been similar threads on this topic, but any suggestions would help me. Thank you.
