No Nursing School for me!
i know that everyone that applies wants it just as bad the next. what about the person that is always chosen last or isn't chosen at all? i have read the watlisted? rejected? post on here, and yes it does make you feel a little better that those select few got into the nursing school of their choice. congrads, and kudos to them, however, there are still hundreds of people out there that want it, and may never get it. everyone tells you don't give up, that there's always next year. yes, there is always next year, but what about the one's that the next year never comes around for them. what about the hard work they all put into to becoming a nurse, that they may never get to exercise it? i guess you can say that there are steps to of being waitlisted and rejected? 1. denial (not the nile river)and isolation:confused: at first we may deny ever getting the letter, or thinking it was just a misunderstaning, and they sent us the wrong letter. after a while we just want to be by oueselves to think about what we coul have done differently, or how stupid the person might feel when they relaize they have sent us the wrong letter, and that we were accepted. 2. you're angry (anger) we get angry at everyone, because we want someone to blame it on. we direct out anger on the world. we get mad at the people that were accecpted, we may not understand why they chose them and not us. once again we are told the same advice, that there is always next year. don't give up, but it's har to follow by the advice when you can think of nothing but anger, and not knowing what to do know that you have base your life around nursing school, an trying to get in. 3. bargaining:bowingpur we bargain with god,and making promises of studying better, makng better grades. going to church more often. asking god, " if i do this _______? will you please let me into nursing school? doesn't work tried. 4. you grieve yes, that does mean you cry your eyes out,and yes the anger is still there, but the advice other have impreganated in your head about the next year is there. you begin to think about that advce between crying, and anger. we feel lost at what to do now, do you try more classes, or where is that first step to take after being rejected? 5. acceptance:) this is when the anger, sadness and mourning have tapered off. the person simply accepts the reality of the loss.you now try to figure out the first step to take, to help you to be one of the chosen next year. the reason for this post is that today i got my rejection letter. i'm still pretty upset about it, i wanted this so badly. i'm trying to figure out what i did so i know what to fix and how to fix it for next year. my letter didn't say waht i had done wrong, but i believe it was my interview. i guess i don't have a good personaility at all. i hope this has inspired others not to give up, i haven't. i'm going for my cna, and take more classes such as medical terminology, etc. things to help build up my resume, so that i'll be one of the chosen ones next year. what are you going to do? what step of grief are you on? i would love your two scents on my post.

I'm in the process of trying to get accepted to the Hugo School. I take my entrance exam Monday, if I make a 90% on both math and reading, then I'll get a phone call or letter stating my interview time and date. However I wa wondering if there was anyone here already attending or possibly in the same position Im in, or even hav already graduated. can you tell me more about the program. Like color of scrubs, hospitals you do clinicals, interview questions, umm... the instructors, classes. Retention rate, Nclex rate. Please and thank you. I really want to get into this school.

A Hesi A2 practice math question
Can you help me on this. I've done them before, I just guess I need more practice on it. A nurse is reviewing the daily intake and output of a patient consuming a clear diet. The drainage bag denotes a total of 1,000mL for the past 24 hours. The total intake is: 2 8oz cups of coffee 1 16-oz serving of clear soup 1 pint of water consumed throughout the day How much is the deficit in milliliters? (enter numeric value only. If rounding is nesscessary round to the round to the whole number.) I have it so far as this, I 've forgotten where to go next, and or even if I've done it right. 1,000mL = 24hr _____ _______ 24 hr 1 day

Last Mintue Tips for the Hesi A2
Hi guys and gals! I was wondering if anyone had any last mintue test tips for the Hesi A2. I take mine in exactly a week today ( March 14th). The school I'm applying for you only have to take the math and reading portions. So do any of you that have taken the test here recently give me and pointers, last mintue things to study or even how you did and how easy/ hard those two portions are. I'm not veery good at math, so I've been work extra hard, do I need to do any work on the reading portion, if I know I'm a pretty good reader? I would lov anyones on this. Can you maybe tell me if there was any algebara on the test? I have the study Hesi A2 study guide, but I want to make sure I have all areas covered on those two portions. I'm so scared and stress at the same time. I really want to get in this school , so I need all the stuy time I can get in, Not only that but prayers too.

HI, Texnurse, thanks for the friend invite. Yes, it's great that we have came together on here. Because to have a friend go through this with you, because you havea person that is going through the same thing your going through, they know how you feel. The exicitment, nervousness, and being plain terrified at this time. Umm... I don't know personally how many people are applying , I just know that there are only 20 seats, and one of those seats are mine! Postive thinking! I'm not sure about point ystem, I think I read somewhere that the referance letters are 5 points a peace, test scores and the those awful questions are worth somuch. Then interview. Not sure just what I'm thinking. I dont know about you, but out of everyone I know including 5-6 people are applying for this school, so yes, i would treat this school like any other program, very competeive. I'll talk to some of the girls that are in the program now at Hugo, and I'll see how hard it is to get accepted.

HI, Texnurse, I'm not sure of the test dates. I got mine when I turned my application in. The lady gave me a recepit, told me to bring it on the test date witha form of Id, and to arrive 15-30 mins before the test time. Which is at 8:30 am for me on March 14th. I was also told from a friend that is also applying for the program that the first ones to test are the firsts ones that get a interview first. She was told when she called that you will get a call a week to two weeks after the test ( if you pass, it with 90% on both parts) to tell you about your Interview date and time. Then, after your interview, you wait a week, maybe two weeks to see if you were accepted. I would be gald to talk to you and get to know you, maybe we know each other. I know a couple thats in the program now.
