Hopefully I will have the same success. Your situition motivates me. I really killed my chances of college nor did I have the drive to go to college in highschool. English , and science kind of scare me. I (due to the fact I messed around and didnt take school seriously) did not fair well in those subjects. Looking forward to the challenge.

Has anyone else been intimidated by going back to school? It has been awhile (12 years), since I have cracked a school book. Going back to start prereqs and core classes then apply for RN. Is there any advice you would give an older gentlemen returning to school? Is it not going to be as hard as I think? Just wondering how it was when others first started on the journey (4 + YEARS of school)? Dang seems like a long road ahead, but one worth while.

I am planning on taking an accuplacer test this wed. I am about to be 31 and have long been out of school. I did not take school seriously. Loved math, science, hated english. Anyways I feel pretty confident that I am not college ready material. Has anyone ever failed every section of the accuplacer? I was just trying to get an idea of how much extra time this is going to add to my already 4 + years of college to become a nurse. I am trying to review ,but feel like a complete dumb***. Currently using an ACT study book to freshen up on some stuff. I feel as though most of it is another language. Plus it is really frustrating me to feel ignorant with things I have already learned but forgotten.

Is there anything a pre pre student can start early that will increase their chances of getting in to ADN school? I know about the grades and such. I mean volunteer work, community work, certs (CNA- is this a requirement for most RN schools?), BLS, courses? Just seeing if there is anything I can do to help make me look good on paper.
