Hi All,I just wanted to ask what everyone thought, or maybe if anyone has been in this situation themselves, about submitting my application to NP school while i complete my statistics course this semester. The application isn't due until March but I wanted to have all my applications complete and sent in by the end of October. I've been an RN for 2 years, I will have 3 years experience before I start. I qualify for all the admission requirements, the only thing is that I am taking my statistic course now. I want to get everything out early and since applications have started to be accepted since this summer, I don't want to be one of the last applicants by waiting too late.

Hi there, I'm a senior nursing student currently working at a rehab hospital. I've been working there for a couple of months and I was told that they would hire me after I pass the nclex this summer. Obviously I am quite happy about this, however, I would very much like to work in an acute care hospital, preferably in an ED. Just because I want to further my education and getting that acute care will look great on my applications to NP or CCNA school. My question is, should I take the rehab position and wait to apply to other hospitals or should I just apply to other hospitals. I had planned on taking the job and still applying somewhere else but I don't want to burn bridges at the hospital I am at now since they've been so good to me. Thanks in advance to anyone who responds.

Hi all, I received an interview last week and an over the phone follow up interview on Monday. On tuesday one of my professors told me she had received a call from HR and gave a review. Wednesday morning I woke up to find that my cell phone service had been interrupted because my mom forgot to pay the bill. We rush off to pay it once we realized but it was 1 in the afternoon by the time my phone service was restored. My concern is that HR may have called during that period of service interruption and I missed it or they heard "this phone is temporarily disconnected". I am really excited about this job and I'm scared that they will reject me based on this. Should I call and let them know that I experienced technical difficulties with my phone and would just like to let them know that everything is fine now or should I just wait and see?

Hi everyone, I'm a junior nursing student who does not currently have nursing based employment and it is killing me. I alternate between panic attacks and depression because it makes me think of how disadvantaged I'll be when I graduate next year without any type of work experience. I've gotten all sorts of advice from just keep applying, to networking and going down to the hospitals. I just finished my last final last week so I plan to start going down to hospitals tomorrow and everyday this week to pass in resumes and just to feel like I'm doing more. What I really need help with is networking. Everyone says networking is key, but how? How do you network and not sound like your selling a sales pitch or that the only reason you're talking to that person is for a job? Bonus question: Do you think going to each hospital individually is a good idea, I know some hospitals specifically say not to do this on their website but for those that don't I thought it would be something that set me apart from other applicants.

Hi all, A few days ago I had an interview at TUFTS as a clinical care tech, they're offering me to start at $12.60/hr. Most other CNAs I've talked to have gotten around $14...I'm still a student and I've completed a clinical rotation. Does this seem fair to you, especially for a hospital in Boston? I'm not sure why I'd be making so little, and the patient load they said can vary from 10-15 patients and I'd be in a CCU, ICU, Med/Surg rotation.
