i have found that the kitchen table in my apartment works great when i need to get away. (i also live alone though, so there is no distraction of roomies) if it's a room you associate relaxing or sleeping in, it can be kind of difficult. last semester when i lived in the dorms i would load my books in my car and go sit in the sonic parking lot in my car and study. there is adequate lighting and little distractions. good luck to you! :)
