  1. Continue to apply everywhere. Try to speak with unit directors or recruiters after you apply for a position. That is what I did and it helped me land a job. Hope that helps!
  2. I got a job offer yesterday.:) Lena, I am a new grad with a six month externship. The rehab center is very nice and clean. Casa Colina seems like they care alot about their nurses and the community.
  3. I have an interview next week with this rehab center. Does anyone have any experience with this place?
  4. I had an interview today and received a job offer at a nursing home which only had a psych unit. For the last two months, I have been looking for a job to no avail, because I am a new RN grad with no experience. Would I be dumb to not take this job in this economy? Pay is good, but I do not want to lose my med surg skills, and not have furture opportunities in a med surg unit. What should I do, take this job and stay for a year to gain experience? Or should I continue applying for a rn position at a hospital?
  5. I had my interview today for an ICU position, and it felt kind of awkward. The person who interviewed me just asked me one question, "tell me about yourself" and that was it. Did they already choose who they wanted to hire? I never had this feeling before, and thought it was just a waste of time. I drove nearly two hours for this interview and waited in line for almost three hours only to be asked one question.
  6. Mina, do they give you a study guide for the written test? Do you know if they're looking to hire new grads?
  7. Has anyone ever applied to RN positions within the sheriff's dept? I know that dealing with inmates can be dangerous work, but the pay and benefits look pretty good.
